N31M needle

Hey guys,

Recently I had to swap the carbs on my KLE, I was repairing a float bowl leak and one of the posts that the bowl screws into snapped off doh

So i was looking around for spares and locally I came accross 2 sets, one was from a gpz500 and the other an EX400(same as gpz5)

I took the EX carbs because they were the exact same as the GPZ ones and a little cheaper, When i got home I stripped down the carbs as I was gonna have to swap out all the jets for my KLE ones, all the jets inside were gpz 500 spec, the only difference was the needles, these had the N31M, where the standard 500 would have N36N Needles.

Have any of you guys ever come accross this needle and would it be worth trying in my KLE?

I have a bog standard KLE 400, upjetted to 98 with just an end can fitted. Standard air box with small snorkel and N96L needles

Over the course of the next few months I want to take the power a little higher using the tips in the tuning threads on here.

Thanks :thumbup1:

Did some measuring today, the N31M needle is thinner than the N96L, Still havent tried them because I wanted to see how the N96L took to being shimmed, great improvement with shimming, after I perform the rimfire Mod ill revisit the needles.
