KLR World Tourer Article

If you have access to the US magazine Motorcycle Consumer News you may be interested in this: They've just started running a series of articles this month on building a KLR world touring bike. The author, Dr. Greg Frazier (a contributor here I think) has done a similar series in the past with a BMW airhead GS. I think this will be just as informative.

Ian, I havn't seen it on very many newsstands but you can subscribe and get back issues at www.mcnews.com. Kurt must be referring to the March issue because I don't see anything in the Feb. issue. If it is anywhere near as good as his R80 article it should be excellent.

What guys?

On this board, about 30% are USA, 20% UK, 10% Canada, and the rest from all over the world, especially Europe and Australia. We have over 100 countries in our list of subscribers.

Just for your info Kurt, Greg Frazier is on this site regularly, is a good friend of ours, and we host his site at http://www.horizonsunlimited.com/gregfrazier/

As far as I know MCN is only published in the US but may be available in other contries as an import. Heck I get BIKE and now and again one of the other UK pubs. when I need a good giggle and to drool over bikes they won't sell in the US. MCN, however, is one of the best around. No advertising what so ever. This lets them say what they want (unlike all the other US publications). I highly recommend it.

Grant, maybe you could get something like that article published here as he's a friend of your's and all. Really enjoyed his last piece in MCN.

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
