What are the KLR's weak points that need to be addressed prior to riding far/rough? I'm about to aquire an '88 w/ 7k miles that will be ridden US-Argentina. Any advice appreciated.

The best place to find information about the KLR's drawbacks and any fixes, is here: http://www.bigcee.com/klr650faq.html#knownissues

Cris Krok has collected a wealth of knowledge about the KLR and put it up there, so I recommend reading the entire KLR FAQ.

If you're not familar with the DSN_KLR650 discussion group, I highly recommend it as well. There is a wealth of knowledge contained in thoses messages, a bunch of helpful people, and you can review past messages at your leisure via the web page. Goto: http://groups.yahoo.com/group/DSN_klr650/ and subscribe.

Good luck.
