KLR suspension improvement
 

I need to improve the front and rear suspension of my KLR 08 any suggestions, does anybody tried the MOAB kit?

I have an '08 and went wit5 the Moab sock and the Racetech emulators and progressive rate springs. I had the shock built a bit long to fit my legs (I had raising links in before the Moab). Rick at Cogent did a pretty good job setting the shock for me. I only needed to do a bit of tweaking on the spring and rebound settings.

In the front it took me a bit of trial and error to get the thing set up right. At first I had three turns of preload on the emulators, which made the front end too stiff (spectacularly so, as I got pitched clean off the bike when I hit an uphill berm - pretty funny). I wound up setting the Racetechs at two turns.

I also p0ut Motowizard pre-load adjusters in. They come in handy for dialing in a bit of pre-load when riding pavement. I like them.

I'm 6' 2", ~230 pounds, and generally run with a total of 300 pounds on the bike (me and my gear).

I love my KLR but I fill its a bit soft the suspensions and I want to improve the suspension or may be change it for KTM 640 (second hand) what do you think??

Ooooops, cabelo, you're asking the wrong guy! I'm a real KLR lover and couldn't imagine anything else. Well, maybe a KLE500. Or a Transalp. Or maybe a Tenere. Or even one of those BMW things. Naw, not that.

Aw hell, the KTM is nice, too.

The biggest thing I'd worry about, and why I like the KLR so much, is reliability and ease of repair in the back country.There's just something about a bike that is so state of the art for 1980 - you can just about fix it with some tin foil and bubblegum, no matter what broke.

yeah thats totally truth!! the KLR 650 is the best, cost & benefit I dont now what to do? I will look more choices for improve the KLR650 or may be change if I found a Good one!!
