KawasakiKawasaki Tech Forum - For Questions specific and of interest to Kawasaki riders only. Questions comparing which bike is best etc go in the "Which Bike" forum.
The Kawasaki website (http://www.kawasaki.com/motorcycles/...ose/index.html gives no information about materials the stock sprockets (alloy or steel) are made out of - nor the kind of chain used (ordinary chain or by any chance an O-ring or X-ring chain)?
The KLR has an O-ring chain (this according to the owners manual). As for the sprocket, nothing specific is mentioned but I believe it is steel, nothing fancy. Nothing really is on this bike anyway.
