klr 650 jetting

We are in Belize and heading south now down into south america. i was wondering in any klr riders can give me any insight into what kind of jetting they had to do down through the andes. i have never messed with the carb on the bike. once you have the process down how long does it take to get in and swap out jets.i brought smaller 2 sizes of main jets buts thats all as the whole trip came together in about 3 weeks. any advice insight would be appreciated.

The KLR is jetted quite lean from stock and the carb supposedly adjusts somewhat for changes in altitude, so rejetting isn't strictly necessary. I did a lot of miles in the Andes and didn't bother rejetting. Keep the air filter clean and go easy on the throttle and you'll get by just fine. If you do change the jet it'll take about 1/2 an hour.

Good luck,
James
