KLE500 Fender extender
 

Hi All.
Looking at keeping the crap of the front radiator and engine parts :( , so the question is does anyone have a fender extender fitted to their kle and if so which bike is it for as they don't list one for the kle anywhere.

I bought a rubber mudflap and fitted it but it burnt on the tyre while riding. I then got given an extenda fenda off a friend. It said Kawasaki on it but I have no idea what bike it was for.

I Just cut it until it fitted. Again the bottom of it was rubbing the tyre while in motion so I trimed it and its worked ok since.

I would recommend looking at other bikes to see which has a front mudgard as close in size as the KLE and then buy an extenda for that model and just make it fit!.

I thought that is what I would end up doing, but I was just hoping that someone might have remembered what bike there fender extender had come from.

Also tried several shops in Bristol, but no one kept them so I have fixed the problem with a piece of black rain pipe, heat gun and cutting tools, should keep the crud off.

Don't laugh until you try it!

30 years ago when I was racing a Hagon short circuit bike I had a problem with mud blocking the fins on wet days. The front "fender" was only about 12" long so it was of no use. The problem is that mud/dirt/water doesn't come from the top of the wheel. I found that attaching a small rubber flap in front of the down tube and just below or level with the bottom of the barrel stopped everything flying up into the fins. The flap was a "fender extender" from a bicycle, about 3" wide and 4" long. Placed horizontally it didn't interfere with the wheel at any time. It was stiff enough not to be pushed out of shape and most importantly it worked.

A small flap attached to the top of the bash plate would do the same thing.
