i'm looking at buying a set of battlewings (bt45 only done 3300 miles and rear is knackered) and was wondering if the 140/80 would fit i know this would up the profile by about 8mm thus higher gearing as well as increasing the width.

any input would be appreciated

Any reason you wouldn't put the set of Avons on? I got only got 4200 out of the stocks, just had these fitted and they're quality.

want to try something different (instead of the usual distanzia, tourance, etc) u never know it could be the one of the best tyres for the kle

In our counrty Bulgaria,we usually use ''MITAS'' - not so popular and not so bad.

try pirelli mt21's or the dunlops, both meant be very good. i have the pirelli scorpions and they are spot on but the mt21 be more enduro tyre and better off road

got a new bt45 on the back
the bead on the rear battlewing split on fitting

+1 on that one!!

E07's used exclusively here in Oz - not a really wet area though....

Hard wearing and good all around grip!

Sorry I cant help with that size, but I'm running a Dunlop 130x 90x17 606, and there's very little room around the front of the swing arm in both tread width and tallness. only about 5mm to the front of swing arm.
Mathmatically my tyre is slightly taller so it'll fit that way but the 140 is roughly 10mm wider and that's where it is very close on my bike. by looking how close my 130 is I'd say no unless you have a longer chain for the tyre to sit right back ?????

running the Mitas E07 front and rear as well. Ran into a little storm comming back from an afternoon run from the Burdikin dam to Townsville a month or so ago. Just after dusk, 110 K/Hr road with at least a half inch of water flowing along, plus puddles. No problem with grip encountered even with a gusting side wind. Was pleasantly impressed and glad! They have a squarer profile which can be a touch unnerving, but have not lost traction as yet. No stupidity tried either.
