KLE 500, what a bike!!

Just a quick note to praise the KLE 500

Over the past 20 years I've had all sorts of bikes from super sports to large trallies. I currently own a 1200 bandit, a Triumph Daytonna and of course my little KLE.

Last year I choose the KLE to ride from the UK to Andorra in a week and go trail riding while I was there, this year it was the bike of choice to do the RBLR1000, that's a 1000 miles in 24hrs. It's such an easy bike to ride all day which in this case it was almost (22.5hrs) with only stops for fuel.

I use mine all year, and do a lot of green laning as it's so light (175kg), so it really is a bike for all round use. No it's not the fastest or the coolest but it's cheap to run, cheap to buy and will go anywhere.

The standard bike does need a good tune-up which I have done, that's rejet, airbox mod and aftermarket silencer. But ounce that is done it makes a great little do all bike.

So if your thinking about getting a do all bike don't just spend a fortune on a GS (250kg) try someting different, you no it makes sense.

Fair play!

I have a 650 Bandit. I luv the little beast.

A question about your airbox mod - was that the mod with the bit of PVC pipe? I was wondering why you wouldn't just drill holes in the airbox. What does the pipe do?

I didn't explain what I did to the airbox, but I did in fact drill a 35mm diameter hole in the top, which actually makes a massive difference to the jetting and so the performance. The pipe thing looked a waste of time.
