KLE 500 Hotgrips Installation
Advice would be appreciated.
Are the OEM grips easy to get off? Do you have to remove the tank to get the wires down to the battery or can you thread them through? Cheers. |

Personally I'd have cut them off, not as though you're going to need them again if you're putting heated grips on? Otherwise I've heard of people using chain lube or similar but this always worries me as you don't want the new grips spinning.

I was able to pull back the standard grips without too much trouble.
Beware of the glue when you put your new ones on, it sets so fast. I only put a small amount arround the edge of the grips which will spead as you push the grip on. You have to be very fast!!!. You dont have to remove the tank, my wiring runs allong the inside of the frame with cable ties. I also mounted the control unit side ways so the wire is tidy. They work a treat, Ive only had to use the lowest setting. regards Roy
