kle 500 front fender

Hi guys just bought my 1st adventure bike a kle 500 2 weeks ago with penty of extras on it how ever iam keen to do a few more mods to it including raising the front fender to under the triple clamps which seems easier enough to do but can not seem to find the correct after market fender to suit. After reading through this site found some excellent info, ghostly slo has used an acerbis super motard guard but what model bike is it from or is there any other fender any one can recommend. i would appreciate it greatly. i will post a picture of the bike and all the mods on it shortly would be happy to hear all coments good or bad.

Hey!

First of all :welcome: to the forum and congratulations on your new bike, may it serve you well :mchappy:.

Second off all, sorry for a late reply, I was in the mountains last 2 days.

Now on to the fender...
I used a universal supermoto fender from Acerbis, it can be found in most motorcycle shops for around 30€. HERE is a link to it. But you can use any fender you like as all of the fenders will require a custom fitting and trimming, it doesn't matter from which bike or manufacturer it is.

Hope it helps, but if you have any more questions just ask :thumbup1:

First, welcome to the forum. The forum is very quiet at the moment but there are a lot of new owners who post once and then seem to sit and wait for others to start threads etc. As the KLE is no longer sold new it seems there is a lot of new owners realising that this bike is more capable than the magazine testers rated it. A few modifications to suspension and exhaust system makes this bike great value for money.
I'm doing some work on my '07 model mostly on the suspension. I'm waiting for new heavier progressive fork springs and will at a later date add emulators (not sure which brand/type I'll use) but one step at a time. I may add heavier fork oil but will again wait to see how good the new springs will be. I have been adding air to the forks using a bicycle hand pump. Release any air via the valves and then add 10 pumps to give about 15 psi. This improves the bike immediately but requires doing this every week or two as there is a slow air leak. Easy to do takes just a couple of minutes. Never use compressed air as this will over fill and damage the seals.
The bike has about 31000kms ATM but the rear shock need some attention. Again the springs are too soft so will upgrade them shortly.

As for the front fender, visit any dirt bike shop and you will have many from which to choose.

I'll wait to see what you finally picked. What colours is the bike and fender?

Ive done a fair bit of research with a mate and we both come to the conclusion that value for money the kle was the bike for us so we bought 1 each both bikes had mods on them but different from each other so i hope between the 2 of us and some excellent advice and links from ghosty_SLO we will have great adventure bike to ride.
Hope to have all mods completed in the next 2 weeks. I will be keen to show you the pictures and info of all the mods i have done to the mighty kle and would apreciate any good or bad feed back.
From my limited experiance i can not understand why this bike wasnt more popular, yes it need a couple of mods done but they are only cheap ones to help the bike do a bit more of the tough stuff.bier

That's very true! I just got back from traveling 3500 miles on a Morocco tour which involved a moderate bit of off roading too and the KLE was excellent all round! :thumbup1:

Fender Mod

Hey guys can you post some pics of the fittings you used for this mod? I am going to do the same thing I think!

Any noise or performance issues?

Cheers!

Joe
