KLE 500 Antifreeze Problem
Hi there!
I've bought a 2005 KLE 500 two weeks ago ![]() I'm not planning to ride at winter, so I will store it garage. The question is; the temperature may decrease below 0 C, and I'm not sure whether the antifreeze was added in the cooler. Unfortunately I don't have the owner's manual ![]() Can you inform me about the antifreeze? |

Antifreeze is also anticorrode and that property is actually the most important one in a bike.
The coolant liquid degrades over time and it's scheduled to get changed every few years. Buy antifreeze from the next garage, mix according to (antifreeze) manufacturers recommendation, drain old stuff, fill in new stuff :-) |

Get a copy of the manual from these pages, there's even a topic on it you can't miss. Consult the storage sections. Long term storage requires certain other steps too, like changing the oil, disconnecting battery, draining the tank and oiling it inside, pouring some oil on the piston head, etc. Changing the coolant is probably the easiest and most necessary one, if you have any doubts on the content. Did once myself. Don't forget to clean the coolant filter. I noticed that service staff never care to do so.
