Kawi Dealers that Ship Worldwide

Seems like there are a bunch of BMW dealers that are willing to DHL/FedEx a package to you anywhere, but does anyone know of a Kawasaki dealer that would be a reliable and knowledgeable parts source? I wouldn't trust my local dealer to do much more than change my oil.

I'm looking specifically for a dealer that can ship to Central America, probably from the U.S., though other possibilities are welcome.

Thanks,
Kevin

Fred of Arrowhead Motorsports fame (Moab, Utah) would most likely be very happy to help with this.

You'd be very unlucky to need kawasaki parts shipped to you in central america. There are kawasaki dealers in Mexico City, Guatemala City and San Jose.

There are quite a lot of KLRs going through those parts, and there are plenty of places to buy bits you might need in the larger towns/cities.

Plus there is the wonderful benefit of being in a culture where local mechanics don't just sell you an overpriced widget, they'll fix a broken part, with a big bawdy hammer if they have to, at least to get you back on the road.

Also, prices would also be significatnly cheaper than the cost of dhl+customs.

So long as you've got a sound collection of spares, you should have no problems. (There's a thread in this forum that has a parts list).

Happy travels!!

I ordered parts for my broken bike from Arrowhead and Dual-Star and had them sent to the explorer's club in Cusco, Peru. Fred ships via USPS, while Dual-Star uses UPS, and both packages arrived in one week with entirely reasonable postage costs (and no customs hold-ups or charges.) No muss, no fuss.
