Differences between KLR and KLX

Hi Travellers !

another Kawa-question:
can someone explain what the differences are between a KLR650 and a KLX650 ?
What would be a better choices for travelling the Panamericana ?

Thanx !

If you are talking 'A' bike (US model), the KLR is probably a better choice for the panamerican. It'd be a lot more comfortable for long highway hauls than the KLX, which is more 'off' than 'on' road.

There is a thread in this forum w/ pics of the different models. It still leaves me confused, but as far as I can tell, the european KLR is significantly different from the us KLR, and much closer to a KLX. i.e. smaller, lower, etc.

I am still confused as well.
Especially since I want to buy a 27 Liter tank from Dualstar. They couldn't tell me whether it fits my KLR650 C-Modell
anyone can...??

cheers
Gijs
