Crash Bars for a KLE
 

Hi Guys,

I'm thinking of getting some crash bars and would welcome views from anyone that has fitted them. I see Roy has fitted the sw motech ones, and they look really really good, but just one question (silly question maybe?), do you knees rest/touch against the bars or bang into them at any time?

The other choice is the hepco and becker ones, anyone got them??

Any views on ease of fitting both of these greatly appreciated.

i have got these on order when i get them sorted i will let u know.
just had heated grips and luggage rack fitted to day and got some allie panniers off ebay a few hour ago .
just want a headlight cover now if available.

which luggage racks did you get (hepco & Becker)? Also did you get those alu panniers off that guy in germany that is selling them for around £125? They look quite tempting!! would love to see a pic when all done..

Hi Richie,

Im made up with the sw motec bars, they give the kle a more chunky look. Yes you can make your knee touch them while riding but nothing to bother me. (Ive got long legs)

I know Voleurs(Richard) has opted for the five stars crash bars which are smaller so we will have to see how they compare.

But upto now, I have no complaints.

the luggage racks i got are five stars,i had to move the indicators but a bracket was with the kit.the panniers are of the german and are the same as the ones flipperboy has on his pics ,allie they are called .
hope they will be here in the next couple of days
i will post some pics when my mate shows me how to do it .
no good with computers.

i havehad crash bars on for a few weeks and have no problems with them.
i am only short in the leg but still loads of room.
my mate is 6,5 his knees can touch but u can just move back a bit he said he never noticed.
plus they make the bike look bigger at the front i have put a pic on in a other post .

I've just fitted some accessories, e.g. centre stand and the sw-motech crash bars. I'm 1,83m tall and have no problems with the crash bars.
They look really great on the KLE.

However I have a problem with the Five Stars luggage racks. It looks like the indicators are too big and need to be moved or replaced through smaller ones.

@robroymc:
You wrote that you have the Five Stars and a bracket came with them to move the indicators. Do you have a picture by any chance?
With my kit there was no bracket.

the brackets are just two flat metal plates with holes in .
1 big hole for indicator 2small holes for bolting to rack where indicators are fitted .
just extends out so u canput your own back on

And the brackets came with your Five Stars pannier racks?

Maybe i've got the racks for the "old" KLEs?

I could not find pictures of crashbars from five stars but i read they are identical to hepco and becker

What crashbars do you have? Are you satisfied with them?
