18" Rim for KLR
Is it possible to put an 18" rim on the KLR 650? If so, where do I find one?

Just found a guy here in Colorado that will reuse my hub and re-lace using a stainless Excel rim...cost is $350! There must be a cheaper alternative somewhere?
Any help appreciated... Dan |

If you have some time to spare you could look for a bike with an 18" rim with the same spoke pattern and a hub about the same size as yours , you might then find that it's drilled at the right angle to accept your hub. Then you could get a rim of the same type from a wreckers yard and have it laced to your hub . That would be a cheap and cheerful way and you might get the info you need about suitable alternatives from a KLR discussion group . Otherwise look out for a new undrilled rim from fleaBay or elsewhwere ,they do pop up from time to time .
