Mapsource map for Iceland

If you need a free map of Island for your Garmin GPS, here is one!
http://www.ourfootprints.de/gps/mapsource-island_e.html

You can't auto navigate, but I didn't need that when I was in Iceland this summer. The map is very good and accurate.

And be sure to email recorded tracks and positions of campsites ect to the creator of this map, to keep the map up-to-date.

Question

I have tried to load the map without success, think followed instructions OK, but the registry bit is beyond my expertise - could anyone that has sorted using the map offer any advice? It's on my PC in a seperate Iceland Directory, but I can 'see' it in Mapsource. (I am on the latest version of Mapsource by the way) Off to Iceland in Aug so could be helpful though I'm a map man really. Thanks in advance if anyone can advice. Cheers Fritz.

If you don't want to mess with registry files then you need to download .exe type of installation, not .zip file. Run it and it will install the maps and also registers them in MapSource. Close MapSource before starting the installation.

Excellent resource, hope we can capture some new information to add to it.
I was going to edit my post, but Rebaseonu you answered too quickly ;-) Many thanks, fritz

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
