is it easy to rent a bike in Iceland?

and a car? any idea about prices?

Hello!
I haven't rented there myself, but I was in contact with these guys when I needed some service, and they were great. They also rent out bikes and arrange tours.

I would guess that other companies have simmilar prices, but I haven't checked.

We're hiring a Triumph Tiger 800XC from Biking Viking Motorcycle Tours, I've met the guys there before and always kept in touch.

Hiring a bike in Iceland is expensive compared to hiring a very small car but costs about the same as hiring a bike in the UK so not so bad.

Compared to ferry costs and the ridiculous amount of time it takes to get your bike by ferry to Iceland from the UK/Scotland hiring a bike starts to make very good sense.

We can fly from Glasgow to Keflavik, Iceland in a couple of hours whereas by ferry would take four days each way(used to be three from Aberdeen/Shetland/Faroes to Seydisfjordur East Iceland. Now we can only sail from Denmark which adds aconsiderable amount of time to our journey

The main deciding factor for us is time, we only have two weeks maximum vacation and can't afford the ferry time......!
