Pre-order Iceland Overland now

Hi everybody

The publisher of my Iceland Overland - handbook and planning guide for motorcyclists is offering 20% discount for those pre-ordering the book within the next approx. 2 weeks . Go to their website, sign-in and pre-order it now:
Book: Iceland Overland

It's also a good idea to order the map of the central highlands (1:300 000), since most of the routes descriped in Iceland overland can be found on this map. This is the direct link to the web-site:

Map: Central highland 1:300 000

What is Iceland Overland?

Iceland Overland is written by a veteran of serious motorcycling, for adventure seeking motorcyclists. It’s the only planning and route guide for motorcyclists dealing with all aspects for your trip to Iceland, from the time you start preparing until leaving the island after an adventure tour on your bike.

Iceland Overland not only deals with local issues like guided tours, workshops, general paperwork, logistics, accommodation, riding conditions, communication and search and rescue, it also deals with more general issues for motorbikers going on an adventure tour, like riding on rough terrain, basic repair, first aid for motorbikers, crossing rivers, towing, spares, packing etc.

Information on more than fifty routes is to be found in Iceland Overland with information on the terrain, experience needed for the route, distance to fuel station, river crossings and accommodation, to name just few. GPS waypoints and maps support all the routes in the book.

More than seventy huts and lodges in the interior is listed, along with service provided, booking information and GPS coordinates.

About the author

Hi geokobbi,
I have tried to order your book and the map but it looks like to site will only deal with users in Iceland. I may be wrong but I could not get it to work. I live in the UK
I would still like to get the book and map, do you have a solution or alternative method.

Hi geokobbi,

I would also be interested in obtaining a copy of the same from within the UK.

Simon and Steve

People from outside Iceland should not have any problems ordering the book. We have had many orders from the mainland Europe and America already.

I know that users of Mizilla Firefox browsers have had some problems with on-line shoping, but users of Exporer have not had any problems.

Just try it again, and if you still have problems send me e-mail.

Jdivision. I e mailed them and told them of the problem. They told me I had to send my card details by return of email which i was uneasy about, but because it was a reccomendation from this site i took a chance.

If all goes well and i recieve the books and my card has not been abused i'll let you know.

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
