Iceland Trip 2005

Hi
We have just arranged a month long visit for three of us in mid July to August 2005 for three of us to Iceland. We are trying to get some more background on the island. How can we get hold of the book that Jakob has written on Iceland? Any one with any info would be greatly appriciated.
Cheers
Lionel

Hi Lionel

Iceland overland will be published in the end of this month. Since you are not arriving until mid july you will have plenty of time preparing for your trip.

For shipping details, see other posts on this forum. If you have any questions conserning the shipping just post another question here and I and other travellers will try to help you.

Due to delay in putting the book together, it will not be published until middle of May.

Lionel, you will be the first one to know, when it comes out of the printing shop.

I guess most of you guys are coming over in July to Sept, so you will have plenty of time to read the book before departure.

Hi Lionel

At the moment the final proofreading is taking place. I hope the book will be printed next week.

You guys will be able to buy the book on the web. As soon as I have the address I will post it here on Horizons.

Hi there Lionel,

Just thought i'd say hi. Keep an eye out for an old UK registered Unimog. We are off to Iceland at the same time for 4 weeks so will no doubt be on the same ferry! Driving up to Aberdeen from Glasgow where we live at moment. We have a couple of nights enroute in the Shetlands too.

I am very tempted to throw the Africa Twin in the back for a bit of 2 wheeled fun enroute! What bikes are you going on?

Regards,
Simon

Lionel,

I cant guarantee we will be at the same river crossing at the same time, but will obviously help you (or anyone else) if needed...

We get the ferry out of Aberdeen on Sat 16th and then out of Lerwick on Wed 20th (i think) so we have a couple of days to explore the Shetlands enroute. Do say hi if you spot us first.

Regards,

Simon

To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.
