How to buy some islandic krona, before arriving?

With the low kronur, I would like to buy some, for a trip sometime next year, but as currency trading with Iceland is suspended in Denmark, this is not possible. Can you buy kronur on the internet somewhere ? Or order a kilogram or two in Iceland somewhere ;o)?

Poul

PS how many kronur do you get for a euro in Iceland these days ?

Hello
The Icelandic Krona has fallen a lot over the last two moths compared to other currencys .
As of today you will get 170-ISK for 1-Euro. One year ago it was 125-1
I think that free flow of money will be back on between Iceland and the rest of the world before the summer so getting ISK will not be a problem.
Iceland gets part of its income from tourists so to me it is stupid to make things harder for people to travel here.

Yes I know it probably will ease up before summer, but I would like to profit from the low, now, as it might change before summer.
Then again, the 170ISK to 1 euro isn't THAT amazing compared to 125.

The last I saw before it got suspended (and it still says that in banks etc.) was 313 ISK to 1 euro. Thats what got me started.

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
