Currently in the Faroes on my way back from Iceland.

Can't say that I am from your country but I guess you already know about others who are, such as in this other thread:-

So, a question for you;
how is the weather in your country this summer? The reason I ask is that the UK is taking a battering from flooding because the low pressure systems out of the Atlantic that usually swing much further north during the summer (and past your area for example) are swirling around here, week after week after week!

While I am typing, anther question:
The ferry prices quoted in that other thread are very reasonable compared with, say, the UK - Spain route. However, I hear that the cost of living in Iceland is very expensive. Can you let me know what the costs would be as a tourist in your country - I have visited Norway, so you could contrast with there if it helps!!

Iceland is currently having its best summer for years, they are crying out for rain. I was there last week and had seven days of sunshine, hardly saw a cloud. Iceland is as expensive or as cheap as you want to make it. You can free camp pretty much anywhere or pay about £7 for a campsite with shower, reasonable hotel £75 night. Fuel about £1.10 litre. Eating is expensive at about £30 dinner but again you can buy pasta etc and cook yourself. Would highly reccomend Iceland and if going with smyril line the faroes are a fantastic bonus. Currently writing this from my hotel in the Faroes with a massive hangover from last night, oh boy do they know how to party.

yes this summer has been good but i have not had time to ride my bike because i am always at work but i will try to do more of it this month and if anyone is currently here in iceland then they are welcome to ride with me.
