Changes in diesel law 1.july 2005
Until 30 june 2005 all diesel cars in Iceland will have to pay special diesel road tax. The more you drive the more you pay. I belive diesel owners can't leave the country without sorting this out at the Custom. The price per kilometre is around 7kr (around 0,09euros).
This changes 1. july, when new diesel laws will be implemented. This toll will be transfered from the Customs office and to the diesel pumps. This means the price will go from 46kr up to around 100kr per litre, or the same price as fuel (bensin).
