Yorkshire Meet with Trail ride out

Just seeing if anyone would be interested in a meet in the Yorkshire Dale's ?

The last one we had back on November 2009 was a tad wet,but I'm sure everyone had fun ?c?

If we do it again we could start to plan it now,but this time do it before we put the clock's back .

The area we have in mind as a bunk houes,so you only need to bring a sleeping bag.
There is a drying room just incase the weather is wet, and kitchen ,and the pub is only 100 yards away :innocent:

for thoes that still want to camp there is room for a few tent's.

The cost is only a few pound's but I will get the correct price soon.

We can once again do a B road ride out and a group for the easy trail ride and a harder trail ride for those hardcore rider's !!!.

So ...anyone interested ?c?

Dazzer

oothef 3 Aug 2010 19:11

I would be interested in this one - last jaunt to Yorkshire was -9 on the way down - so anything warmer would be a bonus ! as soon as I know what date you have set - I will confirm

Debz 4 Aug 2010 17:05

Hi Dazzer

Excellent idea, we'll be up (down) for that unless it's the weekend of Oct 23/24 because we can't do that weekend. Just let us know when though. If you need anything doing, just shout.

Debz

gemmasun 4 Aug 2010 19:24

Yeah we would be up for that if we can make the dates. Not sure about the trail ride but the pub 100 yards away sounds good.

Thank You all for posting

Craig ,Nick and I have been out today scouting for a new site to use.

we hope to here from one place in the next few day's.

This would be perfect to use, but if they can't do it we will go to the other site.

Both site's we have in mind are only a few minute's ride from the trail's we will be riding :thumbup1:

Dates.....1st 2nd 3rd of October

We were thinking of early October.
{ sorry Ted ,but you will be in the Sunshine by then :thumbup1: }

That will give everyone plenty of time to free up the weekend and it's also before the clock's go back which will give us a but more day light.

Dazzerrtw 20 Aug 2010 23:29

Ok The date is booked for the 1st 2nd and 3rd of October.

so we can't use one of the campsite's we had in mind because the local pub as a wedding on that saturday and they won't be able to cope with us aswell.

So We are using the campsite in Kettlewell .

Site entrance is across from the garage filling station in the centre of the village

The price will be £3 per person per night.

I will arrive Friday afternoon.

If we wish the site will provide a few large BBQ's for us to cook our own food on

They can also do a Lamb Spit Roast with baps on saturday evening for £4 pp for all you can eat if were are interested.

There are 3 pub's in the village to keep us entertained each night, and best of all there only a 2 minute walk from the campsite.

If anyone would like a B and B there are plenty in the village have a look here http://www.kettlewell.info/accommodation.cfm

Saturday morning we will be having a few ride out's.

There will be a Hard off road route for those will plenty of experience.

Also a steady ride out with a mix of easy trail's and small tarmac country lane's.

We aim to leave the campsite on saturday morning at 8,30 for the short ride to Burnsal where we will have Breakfast.

Breakfast Choice is.....

beacon sandwich.. £2.10
sausage.............£1.90
egg.................... £1.50
double egg..........£1.70
beacon and egg....£2.50
sausage and egg ..£2.20
beacon and sausage £2.50
beacon,sausage,egg £3.10

full breakfast with tea or coffee £4.90

please let me know what you would like for breakfast on saturday morning so it can be ready for us.

See you soon

Dazzer

greenmanalishi 21 Aug 2010 09:50

Brekkie

Daz, put me down for a full brekkie and the easy trail.
See you all on the Friday afternoon.
GM

oothef 21 Aug 2010 10:41

Another full breakfast please Dazzer, and I'll have a go at the hard route (and hope it doesn't have a go at me).
£4 for all you can eat sounds good.
See you Friday aft. Dean

Birdy 23 Aug 2010 23:30

I might be in the country then, and I might have Harri the invincible back on the road (she still works after our trip, but she is some distance from UK roadworthy!)

If both those conditions are fulfilled, I'll get my arse over to Yorks to join you. Who thinks they can beat a half drunk guy riding a Cg125 across a muddy bog? :scooter:

Oh, that will be everyone with their hands up then.

Birdy

Ride Safe.

RodYork 29 Aug 2010 13:43

Could we both come please? - we will be riding an Africa Twin & a XT225 Serow. Dependent upon the weather, we would like to do the difficult route. Breakfast & lamb sounds excellent! Thanks in advance.

*Touring Ted* 29 Aug 2010 15:19

This sounds brilliant !! Gutted I can't make it !!

Canny Lad 5 Sep 2010 18:49

Hi Dazza, I would like to ride down after work on the Friday if thats ok with you, full breakfast please . Cheers Clive.

motomike 7 Sep 2010 20:44

Count me in as well, if there's space.
Full brekkie and lamb roast sounds about right.
Easy trail ride out, to test me balance on just acquired F800GS...I'm on tippy toes so not too much feet down stuff would suit ! And the back tyres pretty much stuffed, and any other excuse I can think of to cover my lack of ability...
:oops2:
see you there teatime friday
Cheers MM

Jake 7 Sep 2010 23:50

Sorry to say I can not make this meet. jake.

oothef 9 Sep 2010 17:32

It is the only one I could find and without the postcode for the lady who lives in my sat nav I would not find this place and the only camp site I could find was fold farm not sure if that is where we are headed....

See you all later.

Just a quick thank you to Dazza and all the others Steve etc who made the day fantastic. Really well organised rides, excellent lanes, and a pleasant & tranquil atmosphere, ofset with incesnce sticks (lavender) that helped ward off the rain for a great day.

Fantastic- thanks very much- I hope there is one again in the near future!

Nice little edit of the day, Rod :thumbup1:

Dazzerrtw 3 Oct 2010 18:15

I would like to thank everyone that braved the very wet weather on Friday to get to this meeting.

The rain stopped around 6pm on friday evening ,

once everyone had their tent's up it was off to the Pub for a few pint's http://www.bmwgs.co.uk/images/smiles/icon_wink.gif

Waking on saturday morning to clear sky and mist in the Valley was a good sign.

The 3 group's were all ready to leave just after 8am.

Basils group were the first on the the lanes. while Dazzers groupe along with craig and nicks group rode a few miles down the Valley to Burnsal for a Full english breakfast.

My group left Burnsal just after 9am to start our long days riding.

we would be the first to come to the river crossings ,which after all the rain we had had in the last 24 hours would be running high.

lucky for us we had dazco in our group who came forward to volunteer to test how deep the crossing would be...

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=noFRh1KexeA

we found the first few hours hard going on the narrow slippy lanes.
By 10am the sun was out.

We called in to Masham for lunch before we took on Red Lane.

on our way over Kidstones we came across 3 KTM riders one of which had had a bad fall and required medical help and the hellicopter was on it's way.
I waited till that arrived then rode on to catch the rest of our group up.

Deb's and Ian were behind us on their bmw outfit, which worked out well,as Debs offered to ride the injured riders KTM to our campsite so that it could be collected later in the evening.

Thankfully all our riders returned in one piece .

later that night in the Pub as more beer was consumed the river crossing got deeper and the slow speed off's became high speed crashes http://www.bmwgs.co.uk/images/smiles/icon_lol.gif

The owner of the campsite would only take £2 per night for the camping so on saturday night the rest of the money along with the £20 the KTM rides left for the helpers to have a drink with were all put in the Air Ambulance Collection box.

I was in my sleeping bag at 10pm { Iam getting old you know } I did hear that crusty was still partying till 5am http://www.bmwgs.co.uk/images/smiles/icon_razz.gif

Hope everone had a great time and thank you all once again.

photo will be posted soon.

Excellent weekend - even with the rain all the way there and all the way back! :rain: At least the sun shone for the Saturday rideouts.

Great to catch up with friends and made a few new ones along the way.

Cracking video footage of Dazco in the river.

Big thanks to Darren for sharing his knowledge (and lending us his marked up map) so the outifts could go play at our own pace.

Thanks to everyone involved in organising the weekend - roll on the next one!

First but not last

Just to say thanks to everyone involved in organising the past weekend. It was my first ride out but definately not my last, maybe something lighter next time and a crack at a harder route? The ride on Saturday was well organised and pitched perfectly for me as a novice, the weather could have been better but the company could not. look forward to the next one.....

Hi, hi,
THANKS very much for organizing and sharing the fun last weekend. It's a very beautiful area with lots of space and tracks to explore, we both enjoyed that a lot.
Our tipi is almost dry, our muscles are still a bit aching, the sidecar fresly washed...but it was worth beeing there. Thank you Dazzer!
And I have to admit, I am very impressed by Dennis grandson Tristan, 14 years old, not complaining at all.Nice company.
To see Iain and Debz going wild with their sidecar was fun. Normally you push the sidecar out of the shit if you get stuck, Iain just lifts it up!
Byediebye, Andy and Maya.

A bit late but.....

Hi folks here are some photos and a report of the outing from my view! It would have been a lot earlier but my ribs are only just healing (dont ask). I had a fantastic time. Big thanks to freewheel and Deb and Ian for the tea and sympathy when I arrived. Special thanks to Daz for the organisation and an even bigger thanks to Sleepdog and Crusty for the use of the charcoal burner and for keeping my spirits up when they flagged....
