ohhhh free camping !!!!!!!!!!!!

Ahh, well now I feel bad for saying that :oops2:

Jake 21 Jan 2010 14:38

Yes its free camping. So that makes the breakfast a much more reasonable option.

Bye the way I have knackered my spine a bit and am hoing to be ok to come after all this but depending on the injury getting better that is currently up in the air.
Cheers Jake.

I hope that's not as serious as it sounds :( It would be awful if you couldn't make it after all the organising you've done.

Jake 22 Jan 2010 00:28

It is pretty bad - an old injury that has thrown a real wobbler, i Can hardly sit or stand up, or even pick up a cup to drink except when heavily sedated that makes the pain bearable for short periods never mind walk, drive or ride a bike at the moment. Hopefully if it will sort itself out enough for me to be mobile again I will get down there but your all going to have to be gentle with me. if I get down I doubt I will be doing much riding around when I am there on this occasion.

dazco 22 Jan 2010 18:10

Sorry to hear about the back, hope you get it sorted.
Im sure a few pints of http://www.croptonbrewery.com/upload...oducts/410.png will get it sorted:thumbup1:,
Either that or get Debs to rub it better:mchappy:

Way :offtopic: but now that you mention it, the things I can do with Voltarol can make grown men cry.

I'm hoping 'wholesome' is a euphemism for 'lots of fried..' :shifty:

I'm just stepping outside, I may be some time....

Or the off road run recce report. Had a quick ride out on Sunday to check the lanes for the upcoming meet, the low lying lanes are all very wet after the recent weather and are very susceptible to damage in these conditions as well as being quite tricky so we should avoid using these. The higher lanes have a lot of snow cover and the few that I managed to get onto became impassable.

Brook House craggs

No doubt conditions will change in the next two weeks and I am still happy to have another crack at the lanes then but I am not going to get another chance to ride them again before the meet so I don't know what we will find. Should be fun though. :mchappy:

Cheers,

Paul

paul thanks for trying to set up the ride out if its still bad then maybe a road run out will have to be the way to go. But I am sure there are lots of places some of those travelling to the do have not seen or been to as the area is splendid for road runs - I my self even if I make it can not do an off road run due to a back injury then again I might not even make the do - will have to see. Your efforts in any case are much appreciated Thanks.

angus.h 25 Jan 2010 16:20

Hi Jake,do we take a left or right at Dundee to get to Yorkshire!:oops2:only kidding, hope your back ok for the doo,be good to see you all again:thumbup1:all the best Angus

Jake 25 Jan 2010 18:02

Hi Angus, I can suggest a nice scenic route down ....... Hmmmmm
I really hope I am ok as I am looking forward to seeing everyone again see how it goes though.

"Jake, Bev and I would naturally be interested but I'm trying to arrange a trip to Norway, and sods law and all that....can check nearer the time even if only as day trippers"

Oh well - we're in Scottie land from that w/e so probably won't get unfortunately. Hope your back improves Jake.
Keep taking the medicine ;-)

Jake 27 Jan 2010 20:20

It would appear that my injury is worse than I was hoping and will need extensive ongoing treatment and surgery is not ruled out, and I may end up out of circulation for quite some time. As a result I wont be able to make the do at Cropton. I would ask if someone else can take up the mantle of organiser and do any of the contact with the pub on my behalf. If someone can I will give the contact details for the pub and the person to speak to. Still on the positive side it leaves an extra space for camping. If bye some minor miracle i get better and the doctors have it wrong then I will try still to get down - but don't hold your breath on that one.:(
On a worse note that is my trip to Syria ruled out this year as well as the end of my days working with stone. Unemployed now.

DougieB 27 Jan 2010 20:27

Bad news Jake. hope you get sorted soon.

cheers,
Doug

mustaphapint 27 Jan 2010 23:12

I'm really sorry to hear that Jake. All the best for a good recovery after the treatment. Paul
