Volunteering at the hubb

I would just like to say what a pleasure it was to be a volunteer at the hubb . If you have not tried it have a go, you meet far more people than if you just wander around and the sense of being more involved is fantastic . You don't have to do lots of hours but the but you do really helps the team leaders , trust me those guys are heroes working non stop for the whole event.
It was a great event this year and I'll be putting my name down to do my little but again .
Huge thanks to Ian ,Sam ,Dee and Colin for all they did and to all those who did there bit without them it would not work.

Totally agree Trix, my first Hubb, my first go at volunteering and I thoroughly enjoyed it.

I'm just not sure we ought to tell everyone otherwise they'll all want to be doing it next year and we'll be out of a job.

Thumbs up

Great to hear you enjoyed it, it's always a worry for us that the volunteers will work TOO hard and not enjoy themselves! Which is why we love LOTS of volunteers - everyone works a little, and non one works too much!

It's all about sharing and helping other travellers.

Thanks SO much to you, and ALL the volunteers for their hard work and dedication to making a great event for us all.

Hopefully the venue noticed that we left the place cleaner than when we arrived?!

Totally agree. I volunteered again this year and in many ways it was the highlight of the weekend. I can't do Thursday next year as I'll be at work but I would highly recommend volunteering on the gate on Thursday - you get to meet so many people.

They did indeed. In fact they were delighted about how much care we'd taken with the site and were full of praise for the Recycling Crew volunteers in particular.

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
