Not long now...

All organisers will be on site from Wednesday morning. So please don't send any emails regarding the event after Tuesday evening.

If you need to contact myself - 07976 214198 (call or text)

or the venue, Lumb Farm - 01773 744 299

We don't NEED to know you can't attend but it is a nice courtesy, and may ensure we can hold your entrance fee over till next year.

We're booked solid with record numbers of presenters, traders and BMW's attending.

Check out the latest timetable at the venue

Sorry Orrin, we are FULL - and have a long waiting list.

We really don't want to close the doors, we'd like to have everyone who wants to come get in, but the facilities are limited and we are already bursting at the seams, as anyone who was there last year could tell you, when we had 100 less than we have squeezed in this year. Food availability, camping space, plus the all important fire regs, and a survey of attendees last year, say that's it.

There will be a VERY limited number of day passes available, but NO camping allowed, bikes parked outside the gates. (Any bikes left overnight will probably disappear due to the hooligans in the neighbourhood... )

When the day passes are gone, they're gone. Starting Thursday at 10.

We ARE looking for larger facilities for next year, but don't hold a lot of hope - we DO plan THREE events next year, if we can secure the locations over the next few months.

DO check out the Summer HUMP - details on the meetings page.

Wish I had better news! We're trying...

Back in 1993 I re-call attending a HUGE biker meeting at the Bath & West Showground. This particular venue could easily handle 1000+ HU-member attendees - prolly up to > 5,000 wouldn't be a problem. All the facilities you could wish for are right there too.

These sites are around that's for sure - BUT, I wonder what the hire costs would be?

hubber down

A biker was knocked down as he was leaving Lumb farm this morning (10 ish). I didn't actually see it but the police on the scene said he hit a car that turned straight across the road in front of him.
The car was driven by a 75 year old fella who 'didn't see him'. The biker was Paul Therma?? from Northumberland on a DRZ. He sustained a broken leg, collar bone plus other injuries.

If I can be of help (I live Nottingham) with bike storage, bike kit etc he is welcome to make use of my garage. Susan has my number.

Another great weekend, thanks to all involved.

Simon

PS I have a trailer

Sorry mate i didn't see you

Thanks to everyone who stopped to help, I wasn't really aware of things going on around me but I knew there were plenty of you lot that stopped to help. I'm back home now and considering what happened I was lucky to only suffer a broken left collarbone, broken right hand and two very bruised but thankfully not broken legs. Can't write a lot about the incident primarily because I only remember a big bang then the odd sensation of being in the air with my legs over my head, after that is pretty much a blank until being in the back of the ambulance, but also because there will be a police prosecution going on, thankfully for the other guy to worry about, not me. don't know anything about the bike yet, the annoying thing being i'd only had it for 3 weeks on the sunday and the new v5 was waiting for me when i got home. thanks for the offer of transport but the bike is under care of the police at the moment and won't be released until they've finished with it.

thanks,

paul

Thanks for the update Paul.

Heard about your off - you always fear the worst when you hear this sort of thing so it's good to have the facts from the horse's mouth.

Wishing you and your bike a speedy recovery back to full health.

Paul,

Glad you made it back home. Knackered collar bone - the bikers injury of choice.

Hi Paul,

I was one of those who stopped and you looked in good hands with the Rapid Response Paramedic.

I suggested that the bike not be moved until the police arrived, so there would be no arguments about who hit who where!

Recover quick matey and make sure that the idiot who caused the accident gets all he deserves.

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
