UK - Bristol/South West Meet March 8th 2008!

Hey all
Just a quick post to let you all know that there is pub gathering organised for this Saturday, 8th March, at midday. Location: Queen Adelaide Pub, Blagdon, Somerset - www.queen-adelaide.com.
Its been organised by the Bristol Community, but anyone and everyone is welcome!!! As the old saying goes, the more the merrier.
The set up is incredibly informal, a spot of lunch, a drink, lots of advice and of course story sharing. Maybe a ride out. Who knows.........
There seems a lot of interest already so hopefully there will be a good handful of people.
We have had to warn the pub of numbers so if I could trouble anyone interested in going to say you may be coming (but absolutely no obligation to commit) that would be helpful!!
So, I hope to see you are all there!!
Cheers guys
Char:D

Hi all,
Good day and a good meet, nice to catch up with some old friends and to make some new ones.

Seemed a good turnout considering it was the first one and the weather.

Thanks to Charlotte and John ( i think i might of put James instead in the email, thanks James anyway) for the organisation and venue.

Hope you all made it home or to the campsite (nice weather for it) safe.

Cheers

Kev,

PS, Kev on the 1200 GSA can you pm me with the name of that book you were on about?

Bristol mini meet

Thanks for arranging the mini meet, it was a good turn out for a windy wet March afternoon. Great location. Next time I think we will camp and enjoy some more of the area, great roads and great veiws.

Passed the four guys from Portsmouth on the 350 on the way home and it looked likeTerra Circa 2008.

Good luck to every one who was there with their forthcoming trips and ride save.

Once again well done to Charlotte and the local group.

Thanks and Congratulations

I think I speak for everyone in thanking and congratulating Charlotte for organising the meet yesterday.
I feel like there's no shortage of folk keen to meet up and get involved with things, but it takes someone with a bit of organisation and commitment to make it happen. Well done Char.

Lovely mix of people there, and great turn-out (30+ I guess?) despite less than ideal weather conditions. I certainly didn't envy the campers last night.

There's talk about a camping weekend sometime in August, which Charlotte, Mike and I are looking into. We'll put up a proper post when we've got date and venue confirmed.

John thanks for allowing me to try your spangly GS, very much enjoyed that. I never got your number, if you see this could you give me a shout sometime?

Thanks also to Mark and Gary for all the info on HUMM, there's a presentation in there somewhere I'm sure.

Hi all
Just a short line to say thank you John and Charlotte for organising the mini meet.It was well worth the trip up from Portsmouth,we really are lucky that motorcycling seems to attract the nicest of people.Hope to see some of you again up at the Derby meeting in July.
If you can, this years HUMM is one of those must do events, fantastic riding, stunning scenery and once again great company.
All the very best Gary (DR 350)

Thank you one and all - for coming and for your kind words of thanks. Muchos gracias to John for finding a pukka venue and making sure the pub was ready for the onslaught!

It was a shame about the weather, but I think everyone was pleased to see so many people there! It was great to meet everyone.

As Gabe said in his post, we are looking to organise a camping weekend event next time round....but lets wait until the weather cheers up hey! I am sure for anybody interested and in the Bristol area there will be ride-outs arranged in the near future.

So once again, thanks! :thumbup1:

See you all around. Safe travels.:scooter:

Kl500

Slightly off thread, chap at the Bristol meet was riding a Kwa KL500 he / she had a nice set of alumium panniers fittied. Any info on them as to price and dealers would be graet.

Cheers.

Just a quick add of my thanks to Charlotte & co for the effort they put in - had a great time.

Charlotte: as predicted - there was no chance of me getting my 12GS upright from the un- blocked sidestand on that slope. Had to push it to a more level bit. Must buy longer legs...

KLE500 panniers

Hi Thought I would also say thanks to John and Charlotte for the mini meet, also for to answer wishfull traveller’s question about the panniers on my KLE500 they were purchased from TransEnduro - Motorcycle Touring Equipment for the road less travelled
He seems to be having problems with his suppliers at the moment and I was lucky to purchase his old pair from him on ebay, if he sorts out his suppliers then they are good and solid,

Cheers John.

Hi All,
Sorry we're a bit slow responding but thanks to John and Charlotte for organising the Bristol meet - actually we were also a bit slow in turning up and arrived late, but it was great to talk to the people we did get a chance to meet. We went on to camp down in Exmoor - which was damp but fun with stunning views and kamikazi pheasants !

Cheers Mike + Sue ( The Black XT, Happy Campers )
