Summer HUMP - SW camping weekend

Roll up, roll up...............

Summer HUMP!
Horizons Unlimited Mendip Party

In fact its not so much of a party as a camping weekend, but the acronym didn't work so well with a "c" on the end! :-)

Baron Bolton and Charlotte Goose are in the throws of organising an end of summer camping weekend for all us wonderful overlanding people.

At this stage we just want to get the word out so people can pencil it into their diaries. More details as to registration etc will follow in the forthcoming weeks when the event is finalised but for now.................

What do you need to know? The venue is booked and the date set:

Date: Weekend of 30th and 31st August (including Friday evening)
Venue: A farm in the rolling countryside of the Mendips, Somerset (map and directions to follow but for those intimately interested, near Norton St Philip)
Format: The weekend will entail a relatively relaxed and not too jammed packed agenda. Including a ride out, presentations, general milling around and getting to known everyone. BBQ and drinks.

It would be great, at this stage, to get some feedback on interest in the event, and please can we hear from you! If you have any questions, let us know.

Anyway, from Charlotte and Gabriel.....adieu........
.............and safe travels

Excellent

Thanks for the interest people.

I was starting to envisage Charlotte, Grant and I standing in a field nervously shuffling about and looking at our watches and saying "I'm sure they'll all be here soon"

We'll have the registration page together pretty soon, and more details on what the weekend's all about.

See you there

see you there, have already told work that I was going to HUMP for that weekend and would be unavailable for normal duties.

It urns out that I have already had a pint in the local cider pub, 9 years ago. I wonder if they have invested in any tables, chairs or a bar since then. I hope not, sitting in the dirt drinking agricultural scrumpy moonshine is an experience to be cherished

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
