Sam Manicom Adventure Evening

Sam Manicom will be appearing at a charity evening in aid of The Army Benevolent Fund at The King's Head, Chailey, East Sussex on thursday May 20th. The evening will cost £5 with profits to the fund. We will also have a couple of bike touring related companies on hand.
Sam will be giving an illustrated talk and signing books. There will be food available and it's a great place to ride to in the Sussex countryside.
Please email nick@southeastbiker.co.uk for details or check out the southeastbiker website.

Come and support Sam and a great cause.

Thanks

Doh! I cant do evenings in the week due to work, I would have liked to have met Sam again and hear what he has to say about his travels. I have just read 'Into Africa' and half way through 'Under Asian Skies' both great reads, I think I have another book to get about him riding through South America, I will catch up with him another time, at a show perhaps.
I hope your evening is a success.
Regards Julian.

Hi All,
I've bad news I'm afraid. I'm not going to make it to the South East Biker Talk on the 20th. I've been told to report to hospital for an op on the 19th and I'm banned from riding, driving, lifting, having fun, working... for at least 2 weeks. I feel really grim about having to let everyone down. Sorry.

However, the evening lives on! Nick and Debbie from South East Biker are still hosting an adventure travel evening, but just not quite as planned. Instead of yours truely, David from Adventure Peru Motorcycle will be showing a DVD on riding through Peru - amazing country to see from two wheels. And he will be talking about the country and answering questions. He's a really interesting guy who knows a huge amount about Peru. He's well worth linking up with. And of course the cause... well, check out the South East Biker website to find out more about Bill's efforts.

If you were hoping to link up with me, with luck I'm going to be at the Touratech Travel event on the 4/5th June and will be at the HU Meet in Ripley 24-27th June. Snag me for a natter any time.

And finally, many thanks for the kind words guys. I just sorry to have to bunk out on this event, at such short notice too. Hope you can still make it and that you have a great evening.
All the best,
Sam

Hi Bertrand and Julian,
Many thanks for those thoughts!!! Much appreciated. All went well with the op though I think I've been turned into a teenager. I seem to sleep a hell of a lot! Wounds seem to be healing well so I'm happy. Itching only comes from wanting to be up and about again, and the dressings! Could be loads worse : )
Thanks again for posting.
Cheers,
Sam

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
