Next years HU Meet (2004)

I have found an excellent venue for next years meet still in the Derbyshire area. Large function room, probably double the size of the one at Somercoates, showers etc. If one of the organisers could contact me I will pass on all the details.

Hi Ally

Thanks for your post. The numbers this year were more than we expected, and more than the capacity of the venue. So, Glynn and Grant have found an excellent location for the 2004 Meeting - It will be at Lumb Farm, Ripley, Derbyshire, UK, July 9-11, 2004. Details here.

Hope you can make it!

Susan

I have just missed this years meeting (2003) in body, although my face was seen by more than most as Jasper Dittons long suffering partner to North Africa ;-)(as seen during his Fri night slide show). Whilst the meeting took place I was crossing the US following 5000 miles of Sam Correro's off road route known as the'The Trans Am Trail'. I would be more than happy to share some of my experiences and photos at the next meeting. If you are interested please drop me a line and I'll make sure I'm around!!! If you want an idea of the material you can have a look at the website below.

Visited the new site at Lumb Farm today and it looks even better second time around. The landlady remembered us. They do have their own slide projector and screen built in now which we can use for a small fee.

I hope to show my slides using a laptop and digital projector. I think I have sourced a suitable setup, will it be ok to bring it over the the farm and fit it around the stuff they already have there? Will you also have any sound facilities or do I need to bring some speakers and an amp?

Many Thanks

Dave

Wasn't able to see the current set up at Lumb Farm as a meeting was in progress in the room. But they have a drop down screen and a projector mounted in the ceiling, with the slides loaded from a remote location behind the bar. Its fine to bring and use your own stuff or mix and match. We have use of a microphone and speaker.
