Mini meet Brighton - Sussex (UK)

Are there any overlanders in and around Brighton, Sussex who fancy meeting up for a few s?

I know there are a few people scattered around, as I met a couple in Colombia a few years back, but lost there details while still on the road.

If you're planning your first trip I'm also happy to help, as it's always good to catch up with like minded people over a or two.

Personally I'm looking into a trip to Africa in the next few years.

Iain.

I'm in Eastbourne, so Brighton's only a hop away. I might be away for some of October, but otherwise free.

I was just going to suggest just meeting in a quietish pub, with some bike parking near by, perhaps on a Thursday or Friday in October, although I'm happy to go with the flow.

How are people fixed on Thursday 16th or Friday 17th October to meet up in a Brighton\Hove pub at around 7:30ish?

The idea was simply to get a few local people from horizons together for a , talking trips, bikes & the great unknown.

Danward79, have you got a local you'd recommend? If not I'm happy to suggest somewhere.

Hi Iain,

It is probably best if you suggest somewhere. I am not to familiar with the local watering holes...

I have a couple of places in mind, but will just need to check out the parking, as the town centre is can be a bit nightmare.

Does anyone have any preferences on which day to meet up, especially Tim Cullis & ChrisC who've to travel a little further?

In the town centre you have to pay to park cars, bikes are a little easier.

I could recommend a pub where there is free parking, but that would be on the outskirts of town.

Would people prefer the centre or are they not fussed?

The Hanover is a great pub, with parking close by, which is free at night on Queen Park Road, but it might be a bit of a trek from Hove.

Let me know what you think and if Thursday 16th October sounds good.

All welcome.

Had been rebuilding a bike wreck and a friendly passerby told me about the meeting.
May I come as well?

BTW
The trusted map thingy was rubbish as regards my postcode location and the "Hanover" location is one street further North on googlemaps. I do not know which is correct though.

The more the merrier, everyones welcome.

It's looking like Thursday 16th October at 7:30pm in "The Hanover" pub in Brighton:

The Hanover

242 Queens Park Road
Brighton
BN2 9ZB

This map looks a better bet:

I'll print out an HU logo and put it on the table.

Thanks for the heads up Dan - You have to come now
The logo on the table idea Iain is better than us all wearing pink carnations.
