London drinks anyone???

I though I would get the ball rolling once again!

Anyone up for a pint/bite somewhere in London?
I would suggest Thursday 30th November.

Venue: anyone can suggest a "quiet" pub where we could sit down and talk (no loud music), maybe have a bite, somewhere central for easy access?

Cheers,

London Drinks

Hi Maria,

I'm up 4 it, just let me know where and what time, unfortunately I did not come across the details until it was too late for the last London meet.

I live south east london and ride a yamaha xtz, the clues in the title.

Ok, bye for now looking forward to meeting everyone

hurcomb 4 Nov 2006 20:36

me too

I'd be up for meeting up on the 30th Nov in London. I'm prepping my xt600e for an african trip so it would be great to talk some likeminded folk. Most of my friends think i'm mad!

The Windmill near Waterloo Station could fit the bill?

CornishDaddy 5 Nov 2006 08:13

He'll never get past Nurse Rached

As one of Hurcombs friends I'd like to add

1. All not most of his friends think he's mad
2. He doesn't even own a bike
3. The new white 'backwards' jacket suits him
4. I can't see the nurses giving him and evening pass!

:)

Thanks for that glowing reference Ollie.

I'll send through pictures of my machine to prove it. Long range fuel tank fitted yesterday so its starting to look the part.

Sounds like a good idea to me!

Won't mind to join in! As to a place with limited noise... would something in W2 fit the purpose?

i.e. Duke Of Kendall (see: http://www.fancyapint.com/main_site/.../pub1387.html).

Say 7:00ish? (earlier would definitively be a "Oh Crap I'm Late").

Looking forward to confirmation(s).

NB: seems I've sent an email to you guys as to where to find good used 650 PD - but seems you are sorted!

I'll be there

Wow... so many people, who'd have thought it... I'm going trans-Africa too, in April 2007 from London... and i'm giving myself a headache trying to organise routes, prep the bike (a 650 Dakar), figure out the paperwork, learn French and a little Arabic... i'm telling ya, i'll need more than a beer after this !

Seems like we have a few pubs mentioned here though... i get the feeling each of us may end up in a different one at this rate !

I can make it on 30th Nov no worries, and anywhere is good for me really... but what's the agreed location people ?!

Hi Nik,

The Duke of Kendall, Marble Arch.
Don't forget to register to the London Community. I sent an email to the community with pub details. Lots of F650's owners coming (including myself!) so we should get top info on prepping up the bikes :)

ChrisC : 4X4 brigade most welcome too!

See you there guys!

Fancy a pint

Hi all,

Great to see that someone has taken the initiative to organise a social for like minded bikers in London. I have been out of the scene for awhile and this looks like a great opportunity to meet up with a few others.

I completed a London to Cape Town trip in 2005 following an easterly route with a mate. We both rode identical Africa Twins and I have a website if anyone is interested: www.2k5africa.co.za

Looking forward to meeting you guys on the 30th at the the Duke of Kendal.

I went to the drinks last time. It was really good to get along to this and ask lots of questions from various people who have done previous trips.

You certainly end up picking up some usefull tips. Anyone newly thinking of/or shortly setting off for a trip should make the effort to get along.

Pity I can't make it this time.

Cheers

Jim
