London area people riding up together?

Hi there,

Are there any London area based riders who'd like to form a group when riding upto this years event?

My mate Brad and I will be going, but in this instance, it'd probably be fun to go up with some others.

Maybe we could meet around the Northern part of the M25 somewhere.

Leave some contact details if you're up for it.

Cheers,

Matt

Sounds like a good plan. I'll be coming up from Surrey, so M25 area is good, or what about one of the first service stations on the M1 - Toddington I think is just north of the M25.

ANyway keep me eposted by email.

cheers

Richard

guys I will riding up too on friday (from central london). Its a bit early for me to know time - route etc. Are you going M1 all the way? (I alway thought A5 a bit more interesting it doesn't quite take there but..)

I may be learning how to use a GPS by then so probably get lost, so not really good person to ride with but would like to meet up on the way.

BTW just joined HUBB, been reading it for couple of years. Great place to spend lunch time and evenings at the office - apart of course an invaluable source of inspiration (and information)

I am hoping to attend this years event not with standing work commitments. There is also a service station on the A1/M25 junction (south mimms) anyway if it is on the way to the event, i'll meet up anywhere.

I'm having my bike serviced by the excellent Boxerman (http://www.boxerman.co.uk./) in Leicester on the Friday (late morning/early afternoon). After that, I'll be riding up to Lumb Farm. If any of you from down south are passing by Leicester around that time I'd love to join the convoy.

Perhaps you could leave a contact e-mail or mobile closer to the day so I could know what time you'll be passing by, Cheers.
Stephan
PS If you are learning to use the GPS, Lumb Farm is: N53 01.908 W1 24.128

Last year I met a few riders on the way at gas stations - some HU riders are easily recognisable (beatten up bike + gears, eating some junk food :-)

But if you leave on this forum time and place you plan to take a break, I'll make sure to stop by. See you all there!

I just thought of another place to meet for the London rideout to this years Horizon meet, how about the Ace cafe? on the north circular{A406) not far from the beggining of the M1, A1, A5 or whatever route you want to take.

I've got Friday afternoon off work so I'll probably be available from midday onwards. If people are leaving after noon I'd be happy to join them, I work a couple of miles from the Ace. Not been to one of these meetings before either.

Apologies in advance if it's slightly inaccurate but Ace Cafe is:
N51 32.407 W0 16.716

Hi guys,

How does 2:30pm at the Ace cafe sound?

If we're going a non motorway route, would anyone be prepared to lead? Perhaps the guy with the GPS?

Matt

Maverick Bubble 17 May 2005 01:05

Okay, i can get there about 1500hrs, i got a GPS, but i am still getting to grips with it, also i drive a Londoncab by trade, so it would be nice for once for someody else to lead the way (lol)

can I suggest making it a bit earlier in the day - think about getting away before the Friday rush hour starts?

Maybe even meet for lunch at the cafe and get away by 2pm?

Richard

Sounds like a good plan, I'm supposed to be working from home on Friday, so naturally I shall be taking full advantage of that and leving early http://www.horizonsunlimited.com/ubb/smile.gif

So meeting at 2pm at the ace then?
