Good shots Gerry, hope you didn't let that wee dog get your grub!

Most enjoyable weekend, many thanks.
Some of my pics from the weekend. I did the recce run on Friday with Brian, he was concerned and correctly, as it turned out, about trees blocking the route after recent gales.
Leaving home squeaky clean, why do I always get the bike polished up to go out and play in the mud?

On the trail ride route Brian gets his first roosting of the day from John on his Tenere

Route clearance, Teresa Green and Teresa Black

I got sent in to dip a toe and test the waters

Who's sorry now?

Guess I'm in deep doo doo now......

Thanks

What an inspiring and enjoyable weekend!

I hope everyone returned home safely and you are now contemplating your next "Big Trip"

On behalf of everyone who attended the weekend I would like to thank the following people and organisations.

Each and everyone who gave talks and practical demonstrations. A lot of work went into preparation and delivery and probably that was more nerve wracking than the actual trip being described! They all did a magnificent job.

Brian McGirr
who led the trail ride on Saturday. Have a look at the photos in an earlier post on this thread. Those were of Brian and Terry recce-ing the trail. They turned up after the recce, literally covered in mud, with enormous grins on their mud splattered faces, Brian with the chainsaw still strapped to the back of his KTM. A magic moment. Did anyone get a photo?

Fermanagh Council and in particular Eddie McGovern, for the invaluable logistical and practical help over the weekend.

Lisbellaw Hurling Club for the use of their facilities.

Cavanacarragh Hall and, in particular, Una, Seamus and their happy band of volunteers who looked after, fed and watered us so well all weekend.

Grant and Susan Johnston
whose experience, talks and practical demonstrations added immeasurably to the weekend.

Peter and Kay Forwood
. What a treat to be in the company of such seasoned travelers and such nice people. What about that amazing "most traveled" HD Electro-Glide? How many stickers have you on your bike?!

Merv Colton
for capturing some great pictures over the weekend. See his superb photos in a previous post on this thread.

The Mummers
. 'Nuff said!!

All the people and organisations who contributed so generously to the treasure trove of raffle prizes. For the record you raised £500 for Motorcycle Outreach charity and the trail riders donated £150 to the local Children's Heartbeat Trust. Well done to you all.

The lucky winners of the major prizes were:

Paul Gilhooley Riders Of The Lost Trail - Home Page Discount voucher for trail riding and accommodation in Andalucia

Phil Green
Motorcycle tours on and off road and bike rental Discount voucher 14 day Tour of Morocco

Aiden McParland Welcome to GSheaven Motorcycle rental malaga andalusia discount voucher Bike hire and accommodation in Andalucia

Brian Setzer
Ferry Crossings UK and Ireland : Nutt Travel and Promotions Coleraine Ferry travel and BSB tickets

Show you support and appreciation by checking out all the links above. You might just find that perfect trip!

The Horizons Unlimited Ireland organising team who worked so hard to make the weekend such a success. You all know who they are and on your behalf, I thank them all.

A very special "thank you" to the dynamic duo of Harry and Daragh who worked tirelessly over the weekend selling raffle tickets. You did a great job, lads and you should be proud of how much you raised.

Last and by no means least, thank you to everyone who attended. We can organise to our hearts content but it only works when you all turn up. Thank you.

Grant and Susan will be emailing all who attended in the next few weeks and will be asking for your comments and observations on the weekend. Please take a few minutes to reply, especially if you have any thoughts or suggestions which can be incorporated into planning next year's meet.

Next year? Yep. The third Horizons Unlimited Ireland meet will happen next year! Confirmation of date and location will soon be flagged on the site.

Itchy feet anyone?

See you somewhere on the road.

Liam

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
