Having a Barbeque?
Hi everyone,
Following the bike accident, I didn't think I'd be able to make it this year. Fortunately, thanks to Julio Era, I'll be getting a lift. In short, no ride outs for me during Saturday day time. However, i've got another suggestion. But, it'll involve a bit of help from a few others, plus I don't know whether the venue would be happy with the idea or not. What does everyone think about us running a Barbeque on the Saturday evening? I'm a bit of a dab hand at doing good bbq food, and maybe there are a few others who'd be willing to help out? Of course, there'd be the usual fare, but it'd also be fun to get creative as well! Alone, I could probably handle cooking for about 30 - 35 people, but it needs someone else to bring along various tools, implements etc. In addition, we'd need a reasonable sized BBQ. Anyone else up for this? Seeing as I can't go on the rideout on Saturday, I'd be quite happy to do it. Maybe those eating chip in a few quid to cover cost of charcoal and ingredients? Thoughts? Suggestions very welcome! Cheers, Matt |
Seeing as the venue is giving us the facilities free, and their only revenue is from the food and drink, I feel that a mass barbecue isn't fair to them - they are promising us great food at a good price, and planning on supplying however many we tell them will be there. If 40 of you have a barbie, they'll be stuck with a lot of food left over.
If four or five of you want to do something no problem, go ahead, but no major events please. ------------------ Grant Johnson Seek, and ye shall find. ------------------------ One world, Two wheels. www.HorizonsUnlimited.com |
