London Saturday lunch meeting

Any one interested in a meeting for lunchtime (or ) in a pub in London?

Venue depending on numbers, but will be somewhere in town and easy to access.

Date suggested: Saturday 16th November

I hope to attract lots of veterans of Nothern Asia trips (Stans, Russia, Mongolia) so I can pick their brains and get ideas and suggestions for my next year trip!

Cheers,

Maria

Anyone welcome!

In the past, when I have organised a London evening mini meet, we always have had a nice turn out! Hope this one will also be popular!

Although it has been few years since last time I did one!

Air Fare is a bit Pricey

Maria,

Thanks for the invitation. But I live in Nebraska USA and it is a 12 hr. air trip and a bit pricey! I will be interested to glean the wisdom you gather at the meeting. I am jealous that you will all meet and start the adventure. Just reading the emails and thread make me want to start packing.

By the way - my Russian is progressing. I can now spell my name, find a room and ask for water.

Fritz

Ok the pub I had in mind, (the zeppelin shelter) does not seem to open at weekends, according to their website, so let me check for another venue.
Keep posting if you come so I have an idea of numbers.
Venue will be somewhere in London near transports.

Ok I think I got the place. Been there a couple of times and is very pleasant, although a bit away from Central London, but easy to get there.

It is a Wetherspoons, so reasonably priced.
If you don't mind to get to East London, canary wharf, this is a nice big place:

The Ledger Building (Wetherspoons)
4 Hertsmere
West India quay
Docklands
E14 4AL

Can use the jubilee or DLR to get there. Should be easy to find a bike spot on a Saturday.
Or if you prefer to feel a bit like James Bond, get on one of the Clippers boats!
Hope to see you there round 1pm on the 16th then!

Cheers

I am like Fritz to far away to be able to participate but sure hope to benefit from that meeting.

Do all the stan countries have embassies in London our will you be picking up visas on the road? Reason why I´m asking is that none of the countries we will be visiting has embassy in Iceland except Russia so we will have to pick up visas in cities on the way.

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
