What a brilliant weekend! :D

All thanks to Rossi and Mrs Rossi for making it all happen. :thumbup1:

A fantastic Saturday full of lanes (some a bit challenging, some a lot challenging!) and the weather was kind as well.
I thoroughly enjoyed it, and the pub evenings and presentations as well.

And for this rider with a leccy start. The temp repair survived but was tricky to use a couple of times. (Broken circuit between button and solenoid). :hammer:

Ahhh, I wondered. If it is Mez's bike then I was riding it. I took over starting duties and rode it across the ford before claiming my bike back. No way was I going to ride that thing for long.

Tackled the starter this morning. Corroded wire feeding the solenoid, it had been rubbing against a plastic cable guide, probably since new, and worn right through the insulation. Only green powder where wire should be.

As I looked around for a way of accessing this, nothing more than the power of my gaze made a connector drop right out of its receptacle on the main battery feed to the fuse. So the whole bike's electrics became dead.
I think I was lucky to get home from Bodmin.
There was a lot of green powder all round here.

A little exhausted
 

Hi ken glad you have it sorted ,your welcome to use the picture i have some more of you i will email them to you. jack had some problems with his exhaust on the way home,and was burning more oil than petrol .turned out to be a broken top ring on the piston all sorted now

A much more sensible option. I did a few H&H enduros when I had mine. Not the lightest bike but they are solid, reliable and pretty forgiving.

Check to see if the spacer behind the front sprocket has been swapped for a stainless one. The std spacer is mild steel and can rust causing the oil seal to rip and dump the engine oil. The early ones had a ridiculously loud exhaust but I think they sorted that on the later bikes. The headlamp also came hard-wired to hi beam despite having a twin filament bulb; easy enough to fit a switch. Most of these things will have been sorted on a used bike. If you have any questions, ask away. I had mine for a few and racked up enough miles on it.

Found a picture of it in road trim. That exhaust got flattened when I got punted off by a car - I used some of the metal I saved from it to make the brackets for the screen on my Xch. No other damage to the bike though.

Rossi, road tyres on a DRZ...???? Criminal...!!! Will check the sprocket gizmoid mod. I've entered the Cornish Coast2coast trial next sunday, getting MT43's fitted next sat, pick the thing up next thurs... nothing like last minute planning eh ?? Will be tapping into your font of wisdom then with ref to DRZ banter, thanks for offer.

I found the bars were a bit low and too far back. Standard bar risers were no use as they move the bars slightly further back. A set of offset risers which position the bars further forward worked wonders.

The 3-spokes were a blast on a twisty road but the main purpose was to save wear on the knobblies.
