Bristol Area Meet??
Just pooped up on the Email so thought Id' get the Ball rolling for a Bristol Area meet.
Option 1. A Pub Meet midweek one evening, I'll see if I can organise a food/ drink deal. Option 2. A weekend ride out over Local lanes (Byways and UCRs) I'll put a route together and we can go out to play and then maybe meet at a pub after wards?? |
I'm there
Mr Fox,
Superb, great to see someone take the reigns and put forward an idea. We're so quiet in the south west HU community, it'd be great to have a get together, and make a bit of noise. My girlfriend Charlotte and I both ride, and got back from a RTW trip in August. Option 1) We're both game for a pub meet, name the place and time and we're there. As long as it's not in the next few days, we're in Germany for the Intermot show :-) Option 2) I'm all over it, love to do some new lanes in the Bristol area. Anyone up for this? Don't be shy! |
Why not get option 1 under way then talk about option 2 beer
|
Bristol get together
That would be excellent - a pub in the first instance.

Option1 at the mo.
I'd be up for Option 1, not long moved up to Brisssol.....:D

So I have had some responses by email and others Via the forum.
So the plan is, A nice easy trail ride on the 24th October Details to follow. I'll plan a route and bring a freind to act as tail end charlie! But based on others feed back I shall arrange a Pub meet in the next few weeks somewhere in central Bristol. Do people know the King william ale house on King Street, Great little pub all the beers are by a company called Samuel Smiths. I'm thinking maybe plan a meet there on Weds 3rd November at 7:30. How does that suit everyone, If i can get a rough Idea of numbers I'll contact the land lord, but it's pretty cheap there anyway. |
Bristol Meet-Up.
Ok. It's in the diary. See you on the 24th Oct!

I have been catching up on all the emails from the Bristol community. Fab to see so much interest. I'm Char, Gabe's girlfriend - some of you know me from the Summer HUMP we organised a few years back. I wont be up for the trail ride myself, but never ever refuse pub gatherings. I cant do Wednesday nights though. Tues or Thurs are my best nights. Sorry to be awkward. Thanks for getting the ball rolling chaps. Look forward to seeing you all, and some new faces too. Spring HUMP 2011 in the works, and details coming soon form Gabe and I! Hope to see you there (low key camping event in Somerset with presentations and ride outs) Char |
OK so pub meet on 3rd not a good Idea.
However most people seem up for a Pub meet on Sunday the 24th?? So King William at 4pm?? See you all there. |

Sunday meet up
Sorry I can't make the ride out, but I will hopefully be at the pub for 4 or shortly after - I'll look out for the folk with helmets, alternatively just come up and give me a kick (I'll be the tall fella on crutches),
Looking forward to it, see you all on Sunday. |
Just a brief reminder to all Bristol locals.
Easy Trail Ride meeting at 9:30 am sunday morning. Pub meet 4pm @ the King William on King Street. Hope to see lots of you there. |

Char, Shame..... Me and Mark (Bushman) will miss you this time (we went to the one you organised - was it 2008 ?). We have a good excuse though... we start our own RTW on 2nd April so we hope you have a good one. Martin |
What a great day out!
A big thanks to Matt/Mr Fox for putting together the off road ride out, I think it's safe to say we all thoroughly enjoyed it. Good work to our two novice off roaders Carl and Paul for jumping in with both feet (at the deep end!). Great to meet the new folks, and what a great turn out. That must have been almost every Bristol HU member we had in the pub this evening. I love the idea that we talked about, of a Christmas get together. I'd be happy to try and organise it if there's some interest. Another ride out before Christmas as well?? |
Brizzle

I would´ve loved to come from London but I was hesitating because of the offroad ride since I own a bandit 600. The pub meeting was tempting though. Maybe next time. Is there any place where we can see any pictures of your meeting?
Cheers. |
hi all
sorry to have missed this, matt if you organise another and need another helper let me know bw ian |
No Worries Ian.
Just incase anyone is free this weekend I'm planning to Ride the Ox and Shaftsbury Droves on Sunday. I'm meeting people at Warminster Services at 9:30. Well be leaving Bristol at 8.30 so can travel in convoy if you wish. I know people said about another pub meet close to Xmas how does Sunday the 12th December sound?? I'm happy to organise another trail ride/ or a road ride if people wish to brave the cold. |
Hi. 12th sounds good. Cant do too much off roading on a trophy 900 tho. Any chance of both road and off road?
Cheers Matt |
12th December Meet
Hi all picking up where we left off last time, The next Bristol Meet on the 12th December road ride then a few jars at the King William again.
I think we're going for a road ride this time, any suggestions where people would like to go?? About an hour each way would be good so we can ride have a cuppa and be back at the King william for 4pm. |
Hi All,
Hopefully it gets warmer over the next week but the weather forcast says otherwise. Those of you who are up for a road ride next sunday Ive planned a liitle road bimble over the mendips for the 12th December. The Rough route is Bristol, Burrington Coombe, Cheddar Gorge, Wedmore At Wedmore we can stop for a Coffee somewhere. Returning to Bristol Via Wells. If we meet at about 11:30 at the SS Great Britian Car Park an then we should be back in time for 4pm for a few drinks in the King William again. Those that can't make the ride, I hope to see you in the King William again. Thanks |

Bristol mini meet
Hi,
a couple of us 4x4 guys are meeting at the Willy Wicket in Bristol this Thursday (24th) from 2000hrs to chew the fat and kick tyres. If anyone wants to come along either bike or 4x4 then we'll see you there. Both of us have been to Morocco a few times (I'm going again in March) so could give a little advice if anyone wants it. I've got a big green landy, and Clive has a landy campervan. Cheers Guy |
Thanks for Invitation unfortunately I'm at work this Thursday evening.
Anyway I was thinking that another Pub Meet might be a good Idea?? How about the 27th March, Is everyone happy with using the King William on King Street @ 5pm?? I'm open to other suggestions for those that have recomendations. I again will lead a Trail ride before hand if any one feels like getting muddy. There are a lot of lanes of vairying difficulty just to the south of Bristol and over towards Bath I could lead a group run around these. |
Hi Mr Fox,
unfortunately I can't make the 27th as I am on route to Morocco (assuming it hasn't imploded with political unrest). Offer still stands for this Thursday. Cheers Guy |
27th
