A big thanks to everyone for a great W/E

Just a quick note to say thanks for a great weekend. For me the new format was inspired genius. It meant I could take or leave stuff as I wanted and everyone got loads of time to hang around and chat. As ever a great job by the organising team.

As a few of you know I'm off to Finland in the morning and have agreed to put out a quick news letter when I get back to tell everyone how it all went. If you asked for some info can you drop me a mail at the usual address with the title 'Finland Please'. You should get some details and photos in a month or so. In the meantime check out www.allroadtour.fi and get signed up for next years HU Team!!

All the best, great to see so many familiar faces again, see you all next year,

Dave

Thanks Dave!

We had a great time too, and the final total was 300 people, who all seemed pretty happy!

Location is currently planned to be the same, with another room added to make THREE choices for what to do.

Date is tentatively 23-25 June, (last weekend in June, as per this year). To be confirmed soon.

Registration for next year will open as soon as we get confirmation on dates - and yes we suggest registering early!

Finland... hmmm, shall I put you down for a presentation on that trip for 2006?

Thanks to everyone, I enjoyed myself very much for the second year following.

Did wonder though if it would be possible to double up some of the presentations, similar to Tiffany's presentation today and last night, sometimes there's good things on at the same time in different rooms, so hard choices must be made, but if there were to be a repeat later or the folowing day in another room, that would be superb.
Once again thanks.

thank you all for a great weekend, especially to the organisers for making it all happen.

Glyn / Grant, I wonder if it would be possible at some point to have the various presentations from the weekend made available on the HU website, there are a few that I missed and a few that I 'd like to see again so would be good if all the presenters could make them available on the website.

Just like to echo the words already written, excellent weekend, this event only seems to getting better and better, excellent format, great presentations.

Like the idea of doing repeats at different times, maybe the third room will allow that.

Glynn, just to re inforce my offer made on Saturday night round the fire, I would be more than willing to lead a tarmac ride out to some of the scenic areas/villages of Derbyshire next year for those wishing to go out on Saturday but not wishing to go off road. Drop me a line once you start and put things together.

Just to agree with all that has been said above! Jo and I had a great weekend and it is making us wish the next 4 weeks before we leave away even quicker!!! We won't be around for 2006 as hopefully we'll have got to the other side of the world but 2007... Who knows?

Huge thanks to the organisors and the venue staff did amazingly, they seemed to work round the clock and were always friendly and helpful, brilliant!

Bettern last year.
Support the stuff (such as Nobby/Carl/Simon Airhead mods) put on site for reference. Practical stuff excellent along with pics & tales and talks. Too much to do ! Best off road too - top fun.
Just talking has given us lots of info. So so much want to come next year having done a bigger trip and pass on the type of details we got first hand this w/e in prep for ours.
Got to reiterate what a fantastic resource this is and all repect to all that put the w/e and the board etc on and on. Ta muchly.

Thanks to the organisers for an excellent weekend. Only 12 months to wait until the next one, but the Portugal meeting's tempting...

Also thanks to the TRF riders who kindly showed us round the local lanes. In the interest of protecting trail riding in the UK I'll be signing up to the TRF ASAP (http://www.trf.org.uk/), and I reckon anyone else in the UK with an interest in trail riding should do likewise.

Cheers,

Ian.

Many thanks to every body that helped organise the weekend. I had a lovely time.

A specially big thanks to all the speakers esp. David Lomax, Ted, Tiff, Chris Bright, and Austin (to name but a few), and a big ta very much to those that led (and occasionally pushed) me around the green lane course. Next year I sha'n't have road tyres!

A minor niggle now...I was a little miffed with the late opening of the showers in the morning, which was 0815. Essentially, it didn't leave much time for those on the early run out to get ready, and it only made one flushing toilet available. Can we ask the landlady to open a wee bit earlier next year. I think the cleaning lady was slightly embarrassed that she wasn't able to let us in earlier

It was my first meeting, and I think it is safe to say I walked around with a giddy grin on my face all weekend!

Thank you all for making the weekend a memorable one. Fantastic organisation and brilliant venue.

Thank you to Nick who took a very big group of us on an amazing ride out. (I think my eyes were like saucers the whole time! And yes, it was nervous laughter). A huge thank you to all of you in Nick's ride-out group. I was happy to provide entertainment by finding the biggest puddles I could to throw myself into
Thank you all for getting me upright.

A great weekend!
Well done!

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
