Kev (Team Avery)

I've just read that you came last Kev.
(One team that prioritised scenery over points was Team Avery. Kevin Avery;R1150GS, James Dee;R1200GSA, (who got some quick off-road tips for his first off-road riding ever on the Friday!) and Gordon Sargeant;KTM640 Adventure came in last place with a total of 272 points out of a possible 1085. They were last off the mark both days too, but they were also the "most improved Team" from Saturday to Sunday! There's talk of an Avery award for next year's last place team ;-)

No wonder you don't want to talk about it!!

Just kidding of course: yours is the kind of team that I would like to be in!
To hell with the points, where's the next bar?

Happy to talk about it we had a great weekend only found a Bar/restaurant the 2nd day about 1pm when we had not got any points (1st day got 69) & needed a rest & a drink got our 1st points at 2:30 (LOL) On the 1st day our strategy was to ride up the road till we were out of sight & have a look at the map for the 1st time. After careful map reading we ended up in some ones back yard . On the 2nd day we made it up one track that only one other team went up ( there was a much easier way up)
the other team i think only went up that way as Jim told them that was where we went one team also came down it & i take my hat off to them but then they didnt know what it was like until it was too late. All in all we had a great time great ridding great people & amazing scenery & most important i havnt laught so much in ages .
Thanks evrey One
ps still not sure on Austins theory on Diana

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
