Smile Russian travellers annual meeting

Feb 15-17 near Moscow russian traveller community sets up its 6th annual meeting and celebration. everyone can present his route-2007 and try for Trophy of the Year. usually around 200 persons appear at the event, at least half of them hard-core adventurers. "the motoconference" as we call it is the best place to learn about new routs from people who really did it and get all details and hints. we welcome bikers all around the world. accomodation available.
if you take any interest in the event please contact me at motobelka @mail.ru or post here.

Greetings
I won't be there for the meeting in February; but will be in Moscow and St Petersburg around the beginning of July after traveling around Europe. Leaving Australia beginning of May.
It would be nice to meet up with some Russian bikers.
Any suggestions about best accommodation when I'm there?

Regards
Michael

accommodation

what's best for you? nearest to the center or cheapest place or closest to some motoworkshop? or you prefer to stay in the suberbs and drive to the city? anyway you have plenty of time to make sure what exactly u need.
what's your route by the way

Thanks mate, I'll be in touch closer to our departure date.
Prefer close to everything and cheap, but I know you can't have best of both worlds! See my blog for the route.
50` North

Have a drink on me in February . . .
Cheers
Mick

Jeez Motobelka, can't you choose a comelier time of the year??? I haven't got any spiked tyres ;-) And yes, I haven't got enough undies to keep warm

Aren't there any meetings in spring or summer?

Hans

it a meeting not a rally

anyway some guys'll come on wheels but major part appear in winter way - car for moskovites and SPb residents, train for ukrainians and belorussians. for us it's possibility to discuss plans for forthcoming riding season and give trophies for previous year. the reason i posted the announcment here is that most of you cant read russian so cant find contacts in our part of the world - only a few commercials promising asphalt ride from Msk to SPb or thru Golden Ring.
if you r interested in elephant-treffen analog take a closer look at Toghliatti Snowdogs :: Ìîòîñëåò :: Ñàìàðñêàÿ Ëóêà. it's a biggest winter ride here and four smaller ones will take place not far from Moskow. THAT could be real adventure for europeans. another useful site is MotoCalendar.RU - Êàëåíäàðü áàéêåðà all events around the year from all over ex-soviet terra are in the list. but again one shoul read russian.
the conference is the best place to meet real people and to start planning next big ride. so we do.

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
