Kyrgyzstan 2013 HU Travellers mini-Meeting, Aug 31

You said you wanted interesting places for HU Meetings - well, I think this one fills that bill nicely!

Patrik Zimmermann has volunteered host HU Travellers in Osh, Kyrgyzstan, and give you a great introduction to Kyrgyzstan, with traditional Osh foods, and a tour of the area, and slide shows too!

For more details see the Registration info page: Kyrgyzstan Mini-Meeting

A big thanks to Patrik and his family and friends!

HUBB meet in Osh 2013

Dear Patrik Zimmermann,

It's a pity that we r on our way from Kyrgyzstan to London on two Indian motorbikes from 16th June 2013 to 15th aug 2013. I would have loved to come in for the HU meet otherwise. We are missing most HU meets as we r on our extra ordinary journey.

We shall be in Osh from 20th to 23rd June 2013 - would u be available in Osh. Would be glad to catch up.

Wishing you all the best for hosting the HU meet in Osh in advance.

Well, that's close to us being in the neighborhood... Our plans are that we will be in Kyrgyzstan on the week of the 13th of august, so that's 2 weeks prior to the event...
Maybe we can change a bit the plans to attend, but the visa for TJ and UZ are also fixed so we'll have to see. I won't fill in a form now, as we are absolutely not sure if we will make it, but if it's only a few days change of plans, then count us in for sure!

It's more and more probable that we'll be there, in Mongolia now, so depending on how our progress will be, we'll be there!
That's the plan in any case...

Hi Patrik - Looks like we're gonna be too early for this one, unfortunately. But would love to meet up if at all possible. Looks like we're on track for Osh at around 7th August - visa processing permitting. Let us know!

There's only a couple registered, but a couple who aren't registered said they were coming, so we'll see!

Have fun whoever comes!

Well, we're glad that at least we were there!
It was a real mini-meet actually... but we started with the biggest HU meeting on this trip (HUBB UK 2013) and ended on the smallest HU meeting (Kyrgyzstan) so perfect!

Seb, thanks for the photo! But tell us more please for those of us who couldn't make it - like Susan and I!

Well, despite the fact that apparently some said they would come and some said they might come, we were the only ones, Kim and I.

Of course the whole Muztoo crew was there and in the evening some local bikers showed up but that was it.
We felt a bit sorry for Patrik who organized it but on the other hand, it's kind of special if the 'only' attendees are the two of us.

So we had a nice meal together, then we went for a short ride to the hill so we could overlook Osh (it was hot!) and then we went relaxing again.
In the evening when it was (finally) dark we were waiting for some presentation from Muztoo, but since we were there already for a few days Patrik all of a sudden asked me to do a presentation of our trip since the HUBB UK meeting, so I did. But couldn't stick to some sort of timeframe so it was past 11PM when we finally stopped and all left.

So yes, for us it was positive as it was (really) small and intimate and I had the opportunity to do some live rehearsal for the HUBB UK 2014 presentation of this trip.

Patrik, (when you read this after your tour) thank you again for everything and hope to see you guys one day again!

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
