can't register, technical problem

Hi all,
registration form doesn't work, send button stays gray.

Here's my detrails:

Bike: BMW R1200GS
From: Stuttgart, Germany

Was at the Germany meeting last weekend. I'll arrive in BsAs by ship early September. Will do a loop north to Uruguay/Paraguay and will try my best to be at the meeting in December. Then Patagonia, hope to reach Alaska in 2012 or 2013. After that maybe Australia/Asia.
I could do a slide show about dirt riding in Cambodia and/or F650 Dakar / 1200GSA Eastern Europe. I'll have the pics and a laptop with me.
See you in Viedma!

2011

I'm planning a trip to Ushuaia from Reno, NV starting in early October 2011. Does anyone know where the Horizons Unlimited Travelers Meeting will be held in 2011 and if the dates would be 9-11 December if the same weekend as the 2010 meeting? I thought that previous meetings had been held in Ushuaia?

Any ideas?

Doug

NO guarantees on the exact date, but expect second weekend in Dec. Always held in Viedma. There is also always a party of some sort, totally unofficial in Ushuaia for Christmas / New Years.

G, on terrible connection in the wilds of BC

I'm in

Just registered.

We'll be 2up and travelling North from Ushuaia up the Andes. This will be our first HU meet and our first big overland ride too. Hopefully this will be worth the 1000 mile detour from our planned route!

Hope to meet many new friends and maybe learn a thing or two from all you experienced old hands

See you there

Anyone in the area now?

Hi all!

Hmmmm, not much happening in this threat. Does someone know how many are coming?

I'm in the region already, right now in Santa Theresita, about 100km north of Mar de Plata. I have a couple of weeks to kill before the meeting and might head down to Peninsula Valdez and backtrack north to Viedma again.

I can't find Oscar Knecht's contact information on HU. If you have his mail or phone number please pm me.

Cheers
Frank

Hi Frank

He's in the Viedma 'phone book. Can't remember if there's more than one Knecht but his house number's 33 and it's under his wife's initial, N.

Don't miss the meeting, it's brilliant. Oscar and family are wonderful hosts. I've been twice and will be sad to miss it this year: roll on 2011!

Regards, Mick

The phone number is on the Argentina Meeting web page near the bottom, and so is his email address.

Have fun, the reports are always great!

in Viedma now

I'm in Viedma already. Nice, laid back town. Weather is beautiful and the nearby (60km from town, 30km from the campsite) Sea Lion colony is amazing. Oscar and his wife Nancy are really nice people. Right now I'm staying at Hotel "El Vasco", Street 25 de Mayo, 2 blocks from the river, 120 Pesos. Thursday I'll be staying at the campsite "Los Trentinos" in El Condor. See you all there!

Hi Frank

Be sure to get the ferry across the river to Carmen de Patagones: it's beautiful over there.

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
