Smile 2nd Brazil HU Meeting is on, Iguassu, Feb 22-23, 2014!

We are very pleased to announce that the 2nd HU Travellers Meeting Brazil 2014 will be on 22-23 FEBRUARY 2014 (not March!) in Foz do Iguaçu (Iguassu Falls).

Rodolfo Datsch is hosting the Meeting again, so many big thanks to Rodolfo!

It's a Mini-meeting, so there is no charge for the event, just pay for your own food and accommodation. All the details to date are on the Registration page at:

HU Travellers Meeting Brazil 2014 | Horizons Unlimited
There will be lots happening but we'd love to have YOU present your travel story or technical clinic on just about anything travel related, so go to the page and register and let us know you're coming and can volunteer.

We hope you have a great time!

I am thinking about it. Have to make up my mind if I go south and try to reach Ushuaia and sell or ship the bike before the 10th of april or if I store it in Brazil and come back another time...decisions decisions

Norschweger, you and 92 others will be there!

Registration is now closed, but you can still get in.

It's going to be a terrific event, we wish we could be there too! But we're stuck here in the frozen north

have fun everyone!

unfortunately I was too optimistic...lost 3 days on the way to Paraguay due to mechanical issues. Bike runs again but I thinl I will better head to Salta in order to get some parts and a check. If I head through Paraguay I might end up being stuck on my way to Asuncion...: (
Have fun everyone!

I haven't heard the final word yet, but I skyped in to the meeting from the Toronto Motorcycle show to say hi. It was a terrible connection over a phone, but I could see that the weather was beautiful and sunny, and was told there was over 100 people there and they were having a great time!

We'll get news and photos as soon as Rodolfo recovers

Start planning next years event in YOUR South America trip! Date and place about the same.

Hi guys,

The Brazil meeting was a succes, bikers from Brazil, South America and all over the world were there to exchange experiences and meet other travellers

Would like to thank´s all those bikers who made an effort to come to the meeting, the volunteers and those involved on the event.

Would like to say a special thank´s to the presenters:

- Ricardo, who is a biker from "Polícia Rodoviária Federal" and presented very important information about legislation and travelling safe(thank´s for not giving tickets on that!!!)

- Ademir Goulart, who provided amazing and exact information about navigation.

- Raul Cobelo who was on the first meeting last year and spoke about his trip Alaska-Ushuaia

- Vantuir Bopre ,who inspired everyone with great stories from his trips all over South America.

Once the Meeting is over, let´s see some of the highlights of that weekend!!

Once upon a time...

A camping site that was a bit empty and it seemed that not many people would show up for a certain HU meeting!!

Suddenly some travellers and tents started to appear...

Some fancy travellers started appearing...

Others not that fancy. There are some who prefer the old style of riding with boots and a multifunctional pan attached on a coffin at the back of the bike!!!Ingwern is his name, a barbarian legend on 2wheels!!!

The Tour to ITAIPU Dam was as funny as the people who were there!!

More than 70 bikes!!!

Mark had to hold his breath very hard to look that fit!!! ehehehe Greeeeaaat couple!!

INTERPOL is looking for this fellow, he disapeared with all the of meeting, if you see him keep distance and call 999.

That´s the result of the tour to the ITAIPU dam!!

Back at the campin site...

The barbarian legend and irishes are going well

Then the presenters started!!!

Everyone was interested by the talks...

During the presentations and after some s, Nick couldn´t find his bike... he found it 3 days later covered with stickers. We´re still looking for who did that.

But they also got hungry...

Then i came with a plan

And that´s how the meeting ended, good talks, great people, information and a lot of fun!!!!

I hope everyone enjoyed the meeting and for sure next year we´ll have and even better and funnier event

Please post your pics also guys!!

All the best

Rod

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
