Panama, it varies, but there will be 60-100 or so, depending on weather etc. There's always great presentations and loads of people to talk travel with, and who knows, you could meet your next travel partner!

Also worth trying contacting the Jacksonville Community to see if anyone is going. Have a great time!

Spammers cause us a lot of trouble - which is why we have the PM restriction - we catch them before they post too many and get PM permission.

Also to secure your address and so you don't have to post it in the post in ANY form, obfuscated or not, we have a secure system:

User A can just click the users name they want to contact, say User B, and they'll get a dropdown with "send email". User A fills out a form, and the system sends the email to user B. User B's email address is protected until User B replies to User A. (User A never see User B's email address until User B replies to User A as with normal emails.)

Hey guys, the NC meeting was my first event, and what a great time!
Great people, great presentations, specially the last one, Sat night, and by asking around, met some great people to ride with and done some very fun offloading riding in addition of riding the "Dragon"
I will be looking forward to the next event.

Excellent meeting!

I had a great time, too. It was very rewarding seeing so many people there this year, and I hope everyone had a good time. Many thanks to all the presenters who took the time and spent the effort to educate and entertain us all!

I'll be posting some photos shortly, as soon as I can go through and edit them.

Suffice to say, I rode home to Virginia on Sunday thinking about far away lands, exotic cultures, and interesting food. And how I can do this myself!

Thanks, everyone!

It has been seven months since the event, but I stumbled onto this thread while researching the 2013 HU events. I am thinking I will go to North Carolina again this year, and I may take in Colorado. I want to ride back to Colorado this year, and I might as well attend HU.

Last year, I produced an interview with RTWPaul, and posted it on my blog. Subsequently, I gave a talk on SideStandUp about the event.

The post can be found here, with both audio interviews. Attending Horizons Unlimited North Carolina | D. Brent Miller

It was a fun event.

See you on the highway.

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
