Dallas, TX mini meeting plan process

A few of us locals are planning a mini meeting in the Dallas area. (Possibly a breakfast, lunch, dinner or conference room social) We are trying to get an idea of how many folks would be interested. The number of folks interested and their location will impact the decision of where to have it. Also, we are considering something as soon as December or January. Please respond if you have any interest and also let us know what area and time frame would work for you. If you have a link to your webpage or anything else that would give us some insight, that would be helpful too.

mini meeting

Thank you Rob, I plan on you being the entertainment, but it will depend on how many folks take an interest. Have you been to Motopia? They could be a possibility for location. We'll see how it goes.

meeting response

Thank you for the specifics Wayne, it helps with the planning. We'll see which way this thing will turn in a few days. We were planning on finding something we could view a few pictures on a slide show so Rob (PlanoBob) could show us his last trip. We'll keep looking.

South America

Wayne, you had said something earlier about going to South America. While I was down there, a gentleman from South Texas was following my trip. This same gentleman is now doing a similar trip and is presently in Santiago getting some repairs. He has ridden from South Texas and has a blog on the web. Here's the site: ChuckWeaverRides.com

Projector?

I was just wondering what kind of projector you would need to share your last trip. Do you have it on a CD, computer hard drive, old style slide projector. That will make a difference of where we meet also. Basically, what will we need at our meeting location to facilitate you sharing your great pictures and story.

meeting

Excellent
We are thinking sometime in January or February, but most likely January. I guess we need to put a date with it very quickly. Rob is going to share a presentation with us on some of his recent travels. We just need to find a spot where we can do that. We'll know pretty quick. Thanks for your response.

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive.
