Sounds like the meeting is going really well. Just wanted to post a message to let people, who remember me giving a talk there in 2010, know that I now have a book published about my trip - with the help of The Ted Simon Foundation.

'Gone Riding' is available on kindle as the easiest way for North Americans to get a copy. And please do - I'm really nice about Canada!

More details on my website...

Laundry

To answer my own question, in case someone wants to know for next year. There is indeed a laundromat with some front loading washers just a short walk from the campground by the Esso gas stn.

Thumbs up

Great meeting. I really learned a lot.
Ziggy gave a URL where we could download his list. I lost it so I'm hoping someone else got it.
And is there a place to see photos?

Thank you!

We had a wonderful time in Nakusp. It was our first meeting and we will certainly attend others. Made somne wonderful new friends. Special thanks to Gene of Nakusp who took about 18 of us on a challenging trail ride. Some of the 15 who survived felt a real sense of accomplishment. Thanks to Grant, Susan, Ekke and Audrey and all the volunteers for a job well done!

Easy - it's always the last weekend before Labour Day!

See you there!

As like all the HU meetings we went, it was great!
We would (as always) like to thank everybody involved (volunteers, fellow presenters, Grant & Susan and Ekke & Audrey) and certainly to all you guys who took the effort to stay up to be there for our presentation late saturday evening. We were both really tired and I think most of you also from a couple of really interesting days but still you gave present, so thank you for that!

We didn't know what to expect from the surroundings, but we really enjoyed travelling around Nakusp and highway 3 is indeed very beautiful, we recommend it to anybody who will attend next year!

Cool Horizons Unlimited Nakusp 2014

Wonderful get-together in Nakusp of 340 travel addicts. Here's the URL of an album I posted on my Facebook page showing various aspects of the event as well as some of the Kootenay region's attractions.

Pics

Hi all, here are a few of the pictures from the weekend.

Fantastic hosts Ekke and Audrey

Volunteers getting ready on Wednesday afternoon.

Mark showing us how it's done.

Nevil showing Mark how it's done!

It's always busy at the registration desk and HU store.

Nobody goes thirsty... unless they want to.

Of course there are always fantastic presentations and demonstrations at every HUBB meeting.

From how it all began,

To Nevil showing us how it's done.... Again (a man of many talents).

and everything in between. It was a great weekend.

Just a few of the many fantastic rides and some of the people having fun.

Grant and Susan's new Steed.

It doesn't matter how you got here, as long as you got here.

Ducati taking it all in before heading off on an epic RTW with Shannon and Mike.

The tireless and fun Jennifer,

and Susan.

Stay tuned for Mike's skills course and the decreasing radius...

Here's a time-lapse of everyone packing up on Sunday, and us leaving eventually on *ahem* Tuesday at 1700hrs.

You can watch it in HD on Youtube by clicking on the Youtube icon, bottom right.

Membership - help keep us going!

Horizons Unlimited is not a big multi-national company, just two people who love motorcycle travel and have grown what started as a hobby in 1997 into a full time job (usually 8-10 hours per day and 7 days a week) and a labour of love. To keep it going and a roof over our heads, we run events all over the world with the help of volunteers; we sell inspirational and informative DVDs; we have a few selected advertisers; and we make a small amount from memberships.

You don't have to be a Member to come to an HU meeting, access the website, or ask questions on the HUBB. What you get for your membership contribution is our sincere gratitude, good karma and knowing that you're helping to keep the motorcycle travel dream alive. Contributing Members and Gold Members do get additional features on the HUBB. Here's a list of all the Member benefits on the HUBB.
