Paul,

Absolutely great photos. Thanks for all your efforts here. I didn't even notice you taking these photos. I'll begin a write-up for Australian Road Rider and give you a call about which photos to use.

Thanks again.

Thanks for the good time, even though a little bit wet, nice to catch up with people from Cooroy meet.
Made it home, battery became dislodged as the housing plate decided it had had enough of the bumps, so bodgied back on with zip tyes. then gen light kept on at low speed.
So As of Sunday am flying to Sydney to pick up a new bike and ride it back:mchappy:, (if any one had seen my bike, new means any thing after 1989 )
Bought a 2004 K1200 LT, Adventure bike its not, but my wifes bum will be happy. Said if I take it to the next meeting she may come.
So every one ride safe and see you on the road.
Steve

Hi Bec, great photos. Loved the photo and Facebook comment about being a tad cold on the way home.

Hi Steve,

The K1200 sounds like the go, they are very smooth. It would be great to see you and the missus next year, working on a date this weekend and will let everyone know.

Dayboro 2013 + Somewhere in Victoria 2013

Some ideas are forming for 2013 along these lines:

Dayboro 2013 to occur on the weekend Friday 27 September to Sunday 29 September 2013. This date is not the long weekend but the one before it. Why? The long weekend - 5/6 October 2013 is the Bathurst 1000 and that would be a real problem for many. Howver this time of year is worth a try, much warmer!

Talking to Grant and Susan via Skype yesterday the idea of starting on the Thursday and going through to Sunday morning only was raised. How do you guys feel about it?

Long term I see Dayboro being an annual event, some time each year and a second event being developed. I can see that Dayboro can really only cope with a maximum of 150 people. Once we reach that mark, we need to start reviewing the venue.

The second event may or may not be a same time/same place event or a roaming event. Along these lines, in October 2013 we could have a second meeting in Victoria, we've some willing volunteers ready to go. Do you think that a second event would be well patronised?

I'm interested in all thoughts.

Regards,

Shane

My 2 bobs worth ! I personally think it should be in the first
Half of the year, there are alot more public holidays then & there
Is alot more things going on in the 2nd half ie: sporting events/finals
saving for Xmas etc. I honestly think not having it on a long weekend is
fraught with danger (I'm retired so it doesn't worry me) but most
people I spoke to at the last meet all had jobs to go back to so not having
A long weekend means more time off work !

Just my thoughts on the matter.
Cheers

Thanks for a great weekend

I would like to thank everyone who made the weekend possible; the organisers who planned and arranged the event; the magnificant speakers for carrying out presentations and prepare for same; the participants from near and far who simply enjoyed talking about travel and bikes. I thoroughly enjoyed it - thanks.

I tend to agree, I think earlier in the year is better - it really does need to be a long weekend if possible :-p
