Xrv650

I'm looking at a 650cc Africa Twin, imported from Italy.

I've had a little look round the web, and it seems that some people think that the 650 was basically an HRC limited edition released before the 750cc mass-market model.

I have heard great things about the build quality, and I know that the 650 has larger forks and brakes than a standard AT - it is also slimmer and a fair amount lighter. Someone told me that the 650 is basically the best AT for off-road use (yeah, I know - not real off road!)

I fancy something nice to have alongside my '89 Dommie. Anyone had any experiences with the XRV650? Any advice / tips gratefully received.

Hi, I've had an XRV650 for over 4 years, been dispatching it around London, its up to 198000 km with very little grief. Definatly the best, most reliable bike Ive ever had, so good I bought another one for Sunday best. Most parts are the same as early XRV750 90-92 (RD04), only difference is obviously the smaller engine, front forks and single front disc and body panels and fairing are slightly different. Deffinatly recomend them for road use and easy off road stuff. Pay up to £1500 for a good one. Brian.
